Pennies From Heaven

Pennies From Heaven

In my blog yesterday, I wrote about the items I plan to carry on my 50th Wedding Anniversary. One item is the last penny I found on the ground, sent by my mom in heaven. I had a few readers ask about that, so here is my story about Pennies from Heaven. When our loved ones pass on, there are some that send us signs letting us know they are okay or they are thinking of us and sometimes they aren’t just pennies. This happens often with my mom as she sends down Pennies from Heaven.  Some of them are in places around our house where no one has been so they had to be sent down from heaven. This blog tells about the penny I carried on our 50th Wedding Anniversary. http://themarthareview.com/golden-anniversary-soon/

I remember one time, hubby and I got home from work and when I went upstairs, there were 4 brand new, shiny pennies on my pillow.  I came down and ask hubby about them but he had not even been upstairs so he didn’t have a clue.  Other times I have found pennies in our parking lot at work and they are laying in the exact spot where I open the car door.

When I find a penny from mom, I keep it in my pocket for a few days and I can feel the sense of mom being with me.   The penny I’ll carry with me on the renewal of our marriage vows for our 50th Wedding Anniversary next Saturday was on the ground in front of the entryway to our store.  When I pick up a penny, I hold it tight, look up to heaven and tell mom thank you.

I have to tell you about the super special time when I found Pennies from Heaven.  Hubby and I were at a casino celebrating my birthday, where we just play the penny slot machines. We aren’t big gamblers, just like to get away for a day or so with complimentary rooms, food and playing vouchers.  I found a penny in the parking garage, then another in the elevator. I put them both in my pocket and we proceeded to our special 7’s penny slot machine.  I looked down and there was another penny on the ledge below the machine I was on.  After putting in a $20.00 bill, my winnings got up to about $70 but started going down. I had told myself if it got to $50, I would pull it and still be ahead by $30.  I had $53.00, one more $3.00 spin and reached in my pocket and held on to the penny I found on the ledge.  I told mom I had one more spin as I rubbed the penny between my fingers.  Well after I spun, I nearly passed out when I hit the jackpot for over $10,000.   http://themarthareview.com/wordless-wednesday-winner/

I know mom is with me and there are times when she sends my pennies to let me know she is okay or that we will be okay.  This also happened when my 20-year-old granddaughter was facing major surgery for a tumor in her chest wall that had infiltrated into her spine. She was looking at a 12 hour surgery the next morning. As we were in the hotel room,  my grand-daughter asked if I found any pennies and I told her no but I looked.  As she opened the night stand I told her I already looked there but when she opened it again, there was a penny right next to the bible!  That penny went with me the following morning and I held it tight through Alexandra’s surgery. The surgeons had prepared us for the worse, possible paralyses from her chest down, do to the severity of the nerves that were entangled from the tumor in her spinal cord. Twelve hours later, the surgeons came down to discuss the results.  While she had lots of nerve and muscle damage, she was not paralyzed!  So while some people laugh or roll their eyes when I say the Pennies from Heaven are from my mom, I know better.  They have to be from her because they show up at times when needed.  This is the blog I wrote about Alex’s surgery and how mom was with us in spirit from the penny she sent down.  http://themarthareview.com/finally-time-for-alexandras-surgery/

So next time you find a penny, it doesn’t matter if it’s heads up or heads down, you may have a loved one that is letting you know they are okay or they are with you during troubled times.

I love Pennies From Heaven and your right we get special messages from loved ones called home at the times we need them. Because if I can’t find something and I ask my daughter and go on and do something else what I was looking for appears. And if I am outside and see a Butterfly it is her stopping by to tell me hello and just checking on me. As for my mom I don’t have anything from her even though she is gone. But that is because she is with my daughter and Suzzie comes for both of them. Have a Blessed day.

That’s so sweet about your daughter stopping by in the form of a butterfly Glenda. She is always watching over you and helping you find things. Your mom is caring for Suzzie and wonderful how she has Suzzie send the messages. Have a great day, and love reading your life stories.

  2. It is quite an interesting story and I agree with you, they give signs. Wow!

    Have a good day,

When I tell some about my mom sending pennies down, they look at me and shake their heads. But I know they are from her, she is always looking over and guiding her family. Thanks for visiting Gaetane, have a great Sunday.

I love how God has given you great favor 🙂 that’s amazing…I love the story. Thank you for sharing 🙂 I once knew a man who found nickels everywhere. He had a personal reason to believe it was a message from God, but he had hard time believing it. Everywhere he went, he asked others how often they found nickels. I love that you believe it and don’t question it 🙂

    • Martha says:

I am the type to believe without seeing. God has granted me so many favors from love, healing and even returning me from heaven. I can understand how the man with nickels had a hard time believing, but there was a reason for sure. Thanks for visiting Morgan, have a blessed day.

  5. Awesome stories! I completely believe that our loved ones send signs, and the more we notice and acknowledge them, they more they will send. I write about these signs myself, on my blog.

Thanks Allison, there are many people that raise their eyebrows when I tell them mom sends signs, whether it be in pennies or the cardinal in the yard. Mom has been gone 17 years but she is still with me in my heart. I’ll have to share my blog with you about when I went to heaven but God wasn’t ready for me. I just visiting your blog, it’s amazing! I’m also following you on Twitter. Thanks for stopping by!
