The October UBC is a Wrap!

A new month always seems to start out slow and then BAM it’s over! Just like this great challenge, the October UBC is a wrap! I want to thank Paul for hosting this challenge and the awesome bloggers who participate. I joined the Ultimate Blog Challenge back in January 2016 and while some members come and go, many are die hard bloggers who return for each challenge. This is my 44th consecutive challenge that I completed, can I make it to 50 before I turn 80 years old? I’m hoping I can!

Happy Halloween!

Since today is Halloween I’m sharing some “oldie” pictures for Smiling Saturday.

Going through my photos I came across this Halloween picture from 2002. These are two of my grandchildren, Alex (Lia’s mom) and Zac. The other picture is Lia in our front yard in 2022. Lia’s mommy was 6 years old, Lia was 4 years old and Zac was also 4.

Alex was very creative when she made Lia’s costume in 2021, just take an old shirt and pants, cut holes and slices in them, add makeup and green hair and you have a 3 year old green haired zombie.

An adorable butterfly with a ton of candy! I remember Lia sorting all the different candy bars with Pop.

Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight! I have about 6 or 7 clocks around the house but I only change one. I’ve got chimes, bells and cuckoo’s going off all different times. It’s a fun conversation when company is over and no one can figure out what time it is.

As I always do at the end of the UBC, I share a poem I wrote for the beginning and ending of the challenge.

Sneak Peek to what is coming in January

A few days ago I wrote about my progress in redecorating but needed to take a break. I slowed down but I was so excited to get my quiet corner done. It’s not totally finished but it’s got a good start. As I mentioned the rocker was my mom’s from way back. I happened to have a cushion on a foot locker I wasn’t using and it’s perfect for the back of the chair. Currently the fabric is just tucked around it but I wanted to see how it looked. Come January I’ll have pictures hung, my quiet corner completed and be ready for my scripture reading and journaling.

Congratulations to all the participants in this challenged and even if you didn’t write 31 blogs, you are all winners in my book. I’ve enjoy so many of your blogs and I hope to see you all back for the January 2027 Ultimate Blog Challenge but until then, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!
