I’m excited to share Lia’s Garden Update with you for my Friday Story Time by Lia today! This past April, I participated in Lowe’s Home Improvement Garden to Grow kits campaign. They had a different project each week and I was lucky enough to get three out of four!

The first week I got a pail with garden soil, plant food, garden gloves and a pepper plant! I planted my pepper plant, watered it every day and watched it grow. Now I have a pepper, look how big it is now!!

The next week I received a Loblolly pine tree and I planted it in a big pot. I’ve been watering that along with my pepper plant and it’s slowing growing. My tree is so much fuller now and it even has tiny new buds growing on it. When my tree grows bigger we will plant it in the yard.

The last week was my favorite and I was so happy to receive a butterfly house and milkweed seeds. I built and painted the butterfly house and planted the seeds. I watered my milkweek seeds and one day I was so surprised to see them starting to grow. Look how big they are now after only a little over a month!!

This is my blog I wrote when I received my butterfly kit and I also wrote about my pepper and tree planting! http://themarthareview.com/my-butterfly-house-and-milkweed/ This are what my milkweed looks like today! They are growing so fast and while I haven’t seen any Monarch butterflies yet, we do have a lot of black with yellow butterflies and some orange ones.

I hope you enjoyed reading about Lia’s Garden Update, I can’t wait to pick the pepper and make pop a stuffed pepper for dinner!

How cute is this! Her pepper plant is doing better than any veggie I have planted recently! Have a great weekend, Lia!

Lia, pop and I all love gardening and when the vegetables produce food for dinner it’s exciting Dominique. Lia is planning on making pop a stuffed pepper when it’s ready to pick.
