C is For Coupons!

What better thing to write about for the letter C is For Coupons!  I love saving money and with coupons, it’s a great way to save.   Couponing has changed since way back when I used to clip coupons out of the newspapers.  Now the big thing is printing the online coupons.  It’s so easy, just click on the category you are searching for and it brings up all that are available.  There are many online coupon sites, but my favorites are the one I use on SwagBucks because I not only save with the coupon, but I earn 10 points for every coupon I use from them.   The other site I use is Coupons.com but you can search the internet and find many more.

I organize my printed coupons in a binder with individual sleeves for the different products. The front of the binder has a pocket where I keep the advertisements, a notepad and pen.  If I have coupons for FREE items, I keep them in a separate sleeve near the front so I don’t forget to use them!

The other way I earn from coupons are the apps I use on my phone.  These are “couponless coupons”.    The main one I use is Ibotta and all you do is click on the item from the list on the app and when you purchase it, scan the bar code then your receipt and they deposit the money in your account until you cash out into Paypal.    Another one I use is Savingstar.com and this site has two options for using the coupons. For automatic-savings stores, use your registered card at checkout as you normally do and for receipt-scan stores, take a picture of your receipt and submit through the SavingStar app or website.

I hit the jackpot the other day when the CVS flyer came out and I checked my coupons.  This is a blog I wrote about how much I will save from the items I will be purchasing with coupons.  No CVS Trip This Week

Another thing I found about using coupons from the newspaper.  When the fliers come out, I check my normally used coupons then I check the stores to see if the item is on sale.  If I don’t need the item right away and the coupon doesn’t expire right away, I wait until the following week to check the sale fliers. I have found that many times, a coupon is in the coupon flier one week and the item will be on sale the following week, so you get a win-win, get the item on sale plus save even more with the coupon.

Couponing is a great way to save a few extra pennies and that all adds up to saving dollars.

I hope you are enjoying my alphabet blog for the A to Z April Blog Challenge  The challenge is to write a blog starting with the first letter of the alphabet on day one and continue through the month every day except Sunday.  My Saturday blog was B is for Bluebirds where I wrote about the beautiful birds in our back yard. There are just the right number of letters as the number of days in the month.  So tomorrow I will blog about the next letter.  See you tomorrow!

Another great challenge is the Ultimate Blog Challenge for April

I love using coupons and keep them in a divided folder in my car so that I don’t forget them. I’ve never used the coupon apps but I might have to check those out too! Thanks for the tip.

That’s a great idea to leave your folder in the car. The coupon apps are great, no coupons to clip. On Ibotta, I sometimes check through their list after I come home from shopping to make sure I didn’t forget to click something off. They usually always have bread, milk, fresh vegetables plus other this and each “coupon” you click is a minimum of 25 cents. It all adds up! Thanks for visiting Karen.

that’s a good idea keeping the freebies up front, can’t let those go unused! lol
