Wordless Wednesday Mountain Trip
We took a few days to go to the mountains and it poured the entire time! But that didn’t stop us from driving through the Great Smoky Mountains. We saw beautiful waterfalls cascading down the mountain, the swollen Oconaluftee River and breathtaking mountain views. Come with us on our Wordless Wednesday Mountain Trip.
Lia woke up early and was ready to go after checking the weather. After a quick breakfast Alex, Lia, pop and I headed through the Great Smoky Mountains National Forest. Are you ready for a ride with us?
Okay it’s Wordless Wednesday but if you know me, you know I can’t be Wordless. 🤣 This stream flowing down the mountain reminds me of a peacock. Do you see it or is it just me?
It was very foggy above the clouds but all these streams cascading down the mountain were so beautiful.
Wait until you see the view from the top of this path!
I thought this was a cute picture, half of Lia is in North Carolina and her other half is in Tennessee! But look what else we saw on our trip!
We saw some wild turkeys in between the raindrops!
The rain didn’t put a damper on our Wordless Wednesday Mountain trip, we saw some awesome views! If you want to read more about this national park, here is a link for the many things to see if you love nature! https://www.nps.gov/grsm/index.htm
It’s been a while since I have been to this park but it is still beautiful. Thanks for sharing these lovely photos. They bring back memories — I was in the single digits then LOL
We love this area Dominique. Before COVID we would sneak away every 4 – 6 weeks. This was our 2nd time since last March!
This is a stunning Wenseday nature trip.I love waterfalls and I enjoyed visiting this virtually.
We had hoped to climb Clingman’s Dome, over 6,000 feet elevation but the road to get up to the starting point was closed do to the bad weather. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying everything else.
Thanks for sharing all these wonderful nature pictures and video. It feels like we are there with you. Breathtaking views. Enjoy your travels!
I’m glad you enjoyed traveling with us Marc! It was breathtaking and with so much rain, the river was raging!
What lovely and relaxing photos. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time on your trip. Thanks for sharing these photos.
Thank you Brenda, I love our little get aways, it’s so beautiful out with the nature.
Those were a very relaxing set of photographs! Lia looks incredibly happy. I am glad that you and Lia had that adventure!
We all had a great time Alice. The entire mountain area is just breathtaking.
I love such drives when you have time to enjoy nature. We always get exciting seeing wild turkeys when least expected. looks like a great trip, thanks for the great pictures.
This is our favorite get away Chef William. It’s only about a 6 hour drive and well worth it.
Glad you had a great trip to the border of NC and TN. Fantastic photos!
Thanks Roy, we love this area, we will be going back soon.
I love naturescapes, Martha. I saw the peacock in the river scene you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your mountain walk with us.
Oh I’m so glad you saw the peacock also Florence. I like looking at things and seeing something in them. Clouds are my favorite to find pictures in. Lia loves nature and she had a super great time.
Hello Martha, thank you for sharing your Wordless Wednesday’s, I loved your pictures and video of the Great Smoky Mountains. This last March, my aunt and uncle took me to that exact location where you took the picture of your great granddaughter, Lia on state line. It was my first time visiting that National Park and I got my NPS Passport book stamped there! Such a beautiful sight, I got to see the falls with lots of icicles hanging from them. I can’t wait to visit again in the warmer seasons! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures with your family.
Sending lots of love and gratitude,
Jaime
OMG We were there March 7-10 and made the same loop with the icicles! I even grabbed a huge one to take back to the truck to Lia but ended up slipping on the ice, falling down and breaking the icicle. LOL This trip we planned to go the Clingman’s Done and walking to the top but the road up was closed due to weather. If you get back to the area Clingman’s Dome is a must to visit!
Great photos.
It was a awesome get away Amanda. Lia loves an adventure.
