Today is National Cat Day

I’m doing it again, checking the calendar I found that today is National Cat Day. No I don’t have a cat but my daughter has the most beautiful calico but Bella has a mind of her own. She really isn’t a people cat but can tolerate laying on Chris’s lap for a bit. When Chris and her hubby come visit Bella comes with them and she definitely isn’t a fan of Snowball even though he wants to play with her. I think she may scratch his eyes out. LOL

The one thing that Bella is famous for is fetching her pom-pom balls. When Chris asks if she wants to play ball, she runs to the drawer and looks at Chris.

Bella was a stray and Chris adopted her when she was a tiny one. She just celebrated her 3rd birthday a few days ago. Even though she was one to not bother with people, Bella was always by Crimson. About thirteen years ago, someone dumped a liter of pups and Chris took them in, bottle fed them and found homes for them. Her daughter kept one and Chris kept Crimson. Through the years Crimson developed Epilepsy and Bella would be right by her side when Crimson had a seizure. Sadly she passed away a few months ago.
When I visited Chris in August I noticed a cat house by their shed. Seems there was a feral cat roaming around that was expecting kittens any day so Bryon built a shelter for her. She would come and eat but they couldn’t trap her. A few weeks later mama had three kittens. Two were found and taken to a rescue by a neighbor and a week later Chris found one near her busy road. She eventually was able to pick up the kitten and bring it inside. She took it to the vet, the little one was healthy but had to be quarantined until she got a few weeks older. Bella is not happy with the baby.

Chris figured the kittens were born about August 28th so the little one is two months old. Baby kitten also loves to play ball. I wonder if kitty will be a foster fail and Chris will end up with a new member of the family.

Chris had a procedure on her leg last week and baby kitty has crawled up on her lap, if even just for a few minutes. She said the baby is still quite feral but knowing how Chris loves animals she will have a new family member soon!
As for Queen Bella, we’ll have to see what the verdict is with her, will she take the baby under her wing or will she stay a loner like she is? Either way Chris has two beautiful cats and she is such a loving and caring person with her animals.
Happy National Cat Day to all your cat lovers!
