The First Friday in April UBC

Today is the first Friday in the April UBC so that means it’s Friday Story Time by Lia. I’m excited to be back again and was even more excited last week when I was visiting Ma, my dad and grandparents over school vacation. Before long I will be finished 2nd grade and coming down again during the summer. For any new ones joining the challenge, my name is Lia and Martha is my great grandmother. I’m 7 years old and have been sharing her blog since I’ve been about 3 years old. Mommy and I lived in Little River SC near Ma until last year when we moved to Indiana to be with mommy’s brother.

Daddy and Ma met mommy and me in Knoxville Tennessee and I was so excited to see them. On our way back to South Carolina Ma got a blue raspberry Froster for us to share. I haven’t had one in a long time!

On the Beach

On Monday we went to the beach! Ma collects heart shaped shells and daddy and I found some pretty ones for her collection.

Ma told me about how she sends love notes to Pop from the ocean so we each made a heart with a message in it. I watched as the waves came up and started to take the hearts to heaven. The next wave made it all the way to my feet and Pop’s love notes were on the way to him.

Some nice lady was walking past us and she took our picture and look at this giant beach chair they had on the pier!

I liked to help Pop make meatballs but this day I made a sandball! We walked about 4 miles just collecting shells and playing on in the sand. After a fun day at the beach we went to my favorite place….IHOP! Then we were all ready for a nap!

But wait until next week and I’ll share more exciting adventures of my visit. I’ll give you a hint…. it’s about cooking and baking! See you next week for another Friday Story Time by Lia. Thanks for visiting!

Well, Lia, I enjoyed your blog post. Keep it up and one day you’ll have your own. Unless, you already have one.

Lia, it’s great to see you again! IHOP is my happy place, too. What are your favorite pancakes? The shells look fantastic. Since I don’t live near an ocean I have not seen many shells in my life. It’s wonderful you and your family had the opportunity to spend time together and send pop your love messages.

Thank you Tamara, my favorite pancakes are just topped with whipped cream! But I do like the strawberry ones too. Ma and I had fun collecting heart shells and she’s making a wall hanging with them.

Look at how many heart shaped shells and rocks you found! That’s a lot.
It looks like it was a fun day at the beach.

Thank you Barbara, ma and I have so much fun searching for hearts. I can’t wait to see a picture of your heart shell wall hanging when she finishes it.

I appreciate you sharing your Friday thoughts and family photos. Those heart-shaped rocks collected by Lia are so cool. It’s refreshing for me to see the beach again, as I’ve never been into one with my family for a long time.

The heart shaped shell collection, and heaven bound beach notes are beautiful and sweet.
I hope you’ll both have an adventure filled summer.

Thanks Winona, the week went by so fast but it was a fun filled week. Watching the waves take our love notes to heaven is such an experience, I know they made it to Rich.

Oh, I love the beach pictures, as well as all of those hearts! They are beautiful. I too love the beach and I love collecting seashells and watching the sun set over the water!
