Jim Reeves IN THE GARDEN with LYRICS – YouTube.flv

I can’t help but start singing In the Garden by Jim Reeves everytime I take a walk around our garden. But it’s not only about seeing the flowers and the dew on the roses, it’s about the message in this song. While in the garden, I can feel the presence on my mom. I can feel peace when I talk with God. I can see the beauty that God has made and I can see the birds, bees and butterflies enjoying the flowers in the garden as well.

Going to our garden is my happy place because I remember how much mom loved all flowers. Many of the flowers in mom’s memory garden have been there since she passed away in 2000. I just feel like she is always with me, watching over us, smiling as she see’s all the beauty in her garden.

These are two of my favorite photos I’ve taken. The dew drops are so delicate on the roses, it’s no wonder the song In the Garden affects me so much. When I see dew on the roses, you’ll hear me singing this song.

Lia’s Favorite Song

Of course I couldn’t let this topic go by without sharing Lia’s favorite song again. This is her blog from January, of course her song would be You are My Sunshine!! Lia is always smiling and spreading sunshine so this has to be her song!

Do you have a favorite song that affects you and does it bring back special memories? Thanks for visiting!

I haven’t listened to Jim Reeves for a long time. So beautiful and appropriate. Your garden and roses are beautiful. I love Lia’s song, too. My nephew used to sing it to me on the phone when he was small. Alas, he has grown up. I seldom see or hear him. any more.

Hello Martha and Lia, I LOVE both your songs, they are beautiful and lit up my heart and made me smile from ear to ear. Martha, your pictures of dew on roses have inspired me to create a mixed media piece of acrylic and diamond-like stickers! Thank you for sharing. Sending lots of love and virtual hugs. Jaime

I have a couple of special songs that can stop me when I hear them I really enjoy the pictures in the Article.. And the way you wrote about your garden. There is a song that was sung in church when I was a wee lad I loved. The opening line is “I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses, Ans the voice I hear, falling on my ear, That voice to me is calling, and he walks with me and he talks with me and……………………………..

Yes Chef William, I have loved that song since I was young also, remembering singing it in church choir. I’m glad my blog brought back memories for you.

Thanks for introducing me to the Jim Reeves song Martha.. I am guessing I might have heard it but now paid attention to it .. and of course, I love ‘You are my sunshine’ – sang it to my kids so often when they were younger.. I still wake them up with ‘good morning sunshine and good morning sunray’ even though they are 19 and 16..

  5. There are so many songs that affect me. Recently, I had to go and get a medical test done that made me nervous. So I played the soundtrack from David. It helped keep me calm until it was time to go.

Another song that is special to me is “When I Say I Do” by Matthew West. It was our wedding song. I can’t believe it will be a year of marriage under my belt in 10 days. Time goes by so fast.

Oh Amanda, I love the song by Matthew West and that was a perfect song for your wedding! Yes it’s hard to believe it’s been a year almost. Happy Anniversary with love!
