Power of Prayer

Power of Prayer

Do you believe in the Power of Prayer? Our 5th GREAT grandchild was born on August 23rd at 12:40 AM Thursday morning, after a long 18 hours.  Her mom, our 5th grandchild, was determined to have a natural childbirth but as the hours ticked away her doctor thought it looked more and more likely that a C-section may be in order.  I was messaging a dear friend who was a labor and delivery nurse for many years, keeping her informed while she would message back her thoughts.  I also shared a prayer with her that I had written.   As it got to the point where our granddaughter was what seemed to be a standstill in labor, my friend went to her balcony, took the picture below, and prayed as I was doing the same in the labor room while holding my pocket Angel.

Heavenly Father,
Please send your Angels to keep watch over Alex as labor begins to comfort and protect her. Hold her tight through each part of her labor, delivery, and help ease her pain. Wrap your arms around Alex so she may have a perfect little life in her daughter Lia Faith.
Protect and hold them safely now and forever.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen 🙏🙏🙏

A few days earlier, this same friend brought over a beautiful prayer shawl she crocheted for the soon to arrive baby and I laid it over the edge of our granddaughter’s bed.  The nurse came in and our granddaughter was still holding at 6 centimeters and while they were hoping this would change, it didn’t look likely.  We were both praying and then the most incredible change happened.  She went from 6 centimeters to 10 within minutes, something that should have taken a few more hours.  Within a short time our exhausted granddaughter delivered her precious little girl, Lia Faith with no C-section needed.  God had answered our prayers, once again.

Yes I believe in the Power of Prayer and this is another blog I wrote about how our prayers were answered.  This beautiful prayer quilt was given to us by the same wonderful friend that crocheted the prayer shawl for our great-granddaughter.  http://themarthareview.com/one-year-ago-today/

  1. Yes, I definitely believe in prayer. I used to aim my mother at difficult problems I was having because when she prayed, things changed!!

Same as with my mom Jeanine! God has been with Alexandra throughout her entire pregnancy and I know he was with her at delivery. Lia Faith is definitely a gift from God. Good seeing you again, I think of you every time I sip on my hot tea!

Yes I do believe in prayer.
