I think it was back in August or September when our neighbor brought me an old wrought iron bench. The plan was to put it between a narrow section of our yard and neighbor Judy’s yard. But we nixed that idea because the man who cuts her grass would probably have problems moving it every time he mowed. Between the end of January and the beginning of the April Ultimate Blog Challenge, I hit the big one. No not the lottery or casino jackpot but I hit the magic age of SEVENTY FIVE YEARS OLD on March 12th! How can that be when I don’t act nearly half my age. I’ve always said I grow old(er) but I don’t grow up and that I blame on my grands and great grand children. My day started with Rich taking me to IHOP for a free triple stack of pancakes.
Rich would have been so proud to see how his family all worked together without any hiccups to plan a wonderful service. My son-in-law took the reins and notified the Patriot Guard Riders who preformed the Honor Mission, a silent flag line to honor Rich’s service as a Vietnam Veteran in the US Army. The American Legion gave a 21 gun salute and I was presented with an American flag by the Army. The Deacon of our church gave a beautiful service and he mentioned how our purpose on earth
