National Shrimp Scampi Day
Did you know today is National Shrimp Scampi Day along with “Worded” Wednesday? This is one of the easiest meals to prepare. I saute’ shrimp in olive oil and butter with a little garlic then add seasoning to your liking. You can also add a bit of wine. After the shrimp is cooked and slightly browned I stir in a small amount of butter with lemon juice and either broccoli or parsley. While I’m preparing the shrimp I boil up some pasta, I use linguini. When that’s cooked, I drain it and toss in the shrimp. Simple as that and so delicious.

My shrimp scampi just about ready.

My shrimp scampi dinner is served with a side of scallops and garlic knots. I made this when my “church angels” came over for dinner and what a enjoyable meal and company.
Do you like shrimp scampi and if so maybe this could be dinner tonight! I think that’s what I’ll be making since it’s National Shrimp Scampi Day!

I never know that it is National so-and-so Day. I wonder who came up with all those? However, now I’m hungry – what time is dinner at your house, Martha?
I’m not sure who came up with it Tamara but I’ve heard some say it was Hallmark so they could make more cards. LOL I love to check on what National day it is, I got a few blog ideas with them!
That makes me hungry. I don’t eat shrimp, but I appreciate you sharing your process and recipe for shrimp scampi, Martha. Happy national shrimp scampi day to you.
Well Danwil, you can actually substitute the shrimp for whatever you’d like. I’ve made the same recipe using chicken, salmon or beef. Thanks for visiting my blogs throughout the challenge, hope to see you back in July.
I love seafood, so this looks amazing, especially with a side of scallops
Seafood is my favorite too Janice and I love sea scallops as a side also.
I don’t like shrimp but your dinner does look good. I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks Barbara, this is such an easy recipe but you can substitute the shrimp with chicken or beef and still have a quick and easy meal.
Sounds so easy! Have to give it a go soon. I love shrimps and pasta.
It is so easy Lily and delicious! I like seafood more than beef and I’ve even made this recipe using chicken instead of shrimp.
