National AI Day and New Gravatar
Did you know there is a National AI Day? I didn’t until I checked what July 16th list was. Artificial Intelligence is not new, it was first started in 1950 by Alan Turing when I was a year old! He asked if machines could think for itself and in 1952 Arthur Samuel proved that machines could learn from their mistakes. National AI Day made it’s debut on the National Calendar Day in 2025 and now it’s everywhere.
I think I’m too old to worry about this, I still like to come up with my own writing ideas and while they may not be perfect, they are mine. Lia knows more about AI than I do! She is a wiz at creating a regular photograph into a cartoon, anime or design.

These are a few of the photographs that Lia edited using ChatGPT. She did them so fast I couldn’t keep up with how she was doing it. LOL
New Gravatar
While we’re on the topic of AI it’s also time for a new Gravatar for my blog. Lia was just a few years old when she joined in with me on The Martha Review. As she grows up, I like to change to Gravatar.

These are my last four gravatars when Lia was 3, 4, 6, and 7. Where has the time gone, she will turn 8 years old next month!

Again Lia was playing with ChatGPT and the first one is Cartoon and the other in Anime. Of the two I like the cartoon one better but there are certain places where I prefer a good old fashioned, non edited photograph and my Gravatar is one of them.

So this will be our 2026 Gravatar and since Lia and Snowball both have a big part of blogging I have to include them!

I prefer genuine pictures and writing form the heart over AI generated stuff any day, especially when you can’t tell what’s true or fake anymore.
That’s me too Tamara especially on my blog and gravatar. I’m working on a book with the help from Lia’s dad and when I asked him if I should use AI he said actually photos are better to be able to put a face with what I’m writing about and also for the readers to see who it’s about.
How is it that Lia is getting older and you, Martha, are getting younger? Great job with the pics and letting me know that it is National AI Day. I had no idea.
LOL Paul, you may need new glasses, the wrinkles are really adding up on me! LOL I’ve got a few years to go til I’m 80 and I heard we start reverting to our kid years as we get older. LOL I’m so glad Lia got me hooked up to AI, it’s really quite fun.
I think that’s my favourite thing about AI is the image creation. It’s a lot of fun to play with.
I’ll definitely playing around with it now that Lia has me “hooked” on it Barbara!
Martha… 🥹 These ChatGPT cartoons are sooooo cute!!! Tell Lia that she IS a wiz! And your new Gravatar photo is beautiful as well. I love the way Snowball is kissing Lia. 🥰 I also transformed my dog, Cookie, into cartoons with ChatGPT. You can see them here: https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18095893736151306/ and they are cute as a button, just like yours! 🤗
I’m glad Lia taught me how to use ChapGPT Daniela. I just looked at Cookie’s, I like the captions you wrote! I’ll probably be using it more now that I got the hang of it!
Lia is beautiful in real life and in a gravatar created by AI.Not to mention smart. It seems like she is very good with ChatGPT.
Thank you Alice! When it comes to the computer and gravatars, she’s way smarter than I am. But I’m glad she showed me how it works!
Martha, your new gravatar is completely charming. Your images with Lia, or Lia and Snowball, are always heartwarming, full of love. It’s wonderful that you update them from time to time.
Thanks Kebba, I update them more for Lia since she grows so much each year! Since Lia taught me about ChatGPT I’ve been playing around with some photos but I still the the actual photos for gravatars and such.
