Move Over Elf, Martha’s Here
Today is Silly Saturday and I thought this was perfect for today’s blog. I’ve never been into Elf on a Shelf, probably because my children were grown when the fad started. But move over Elf, Martha’s here!

The week before Christmas I was at Walmart and what to my wondering eyes did appear, no it wasn’t Santa, it was MARTHA ON THE SHELF! Now I’m also not a Martha Stewart fan who this was to resemble but Martha, how could I NOT get my name sake? Oh wait, she was $25.00, yes TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for a thing to just set on the mantle that I don’t even have! I could not justify the price just to have Martha on the shelf. I told myself if she was on sale after Christmas I would get her.

Well wouldn’t you know, after Christmas Martha was half price, a mere $12.50, that I could spring for. Since I don’t have a mantle Martha will have to satisfied to sit on a shelf near the front door so she can check out who’s coming and going. Yes I plan to keep her up year round because after all, she’s Martha!
I hope Martha on the Mantel gave you a few chuckles for Silly Saturday!

Martha on the shelf was on sale, love it! Glad you are giving her a home! Happy weekend, Martha!
I am so frugal (or cheap) Tamara but for $12.50 I had to get Martha! LOL
LOL! What a great find and yes you needed to get your namesake. Enjoy Martha on the Shelf.
I always have my eyes open to great finds Kim and always say if it’s there when I go back it’s meant for me to get it.
Yes, it gave me a chuckle. That Martha certainly knew how to make money. But you, Martha knew how to save money. Yay!
Oh yes Lily! But I think I’d rather by frugal and save money! But I happy I have Martha with me. LOL
You made me laugh so much. I needed that.
So glad Amanda, we all need a little laugh now and then.
I love Martha!! And of course she needs to be up year-round!
For o pit personal skating time at Sister Circle bookgroup, we pass Sophia, an owl ‘puppet’
There are several knitters, and Dianne had crafted her a wardrobe of hats for different seasons!
I can picture Martha in a spring bonnet ….
Nadya
What a great idea Nadya! Martha is staying on display year round and I could make hats for different seasons!
An after-Christmas Martha!! I really love that, so much. Plus it’s both funny and a bar-goon!!!
You know me with my “bargoon” deals Alice! LOL It was something I just HAD to get at that price.
Martha, the elf’s facial features look more like you than Martha Stewart. At first glance, I thought someone had made you a custom elf!! I got excited! Now I am still excited because you got her for $12.50 and she looks so much like you, plus her name is Martha! And her outfit colors are perfect to carry her through Valentines’ Day. Even into Spring and Summer? I love her!
Thanks Kebba! I have her sitting on a shelf mantle LOL and I plan to keep her there year round!
