MAJOR Overhaul Finale
This is almost turning into a book with my major overhaul project. LOL Part 1 was new flooring on the stairs and the upstairs center room, part 2 was the playroom and guest room. I still have the master bedroom to paint and have the new flooring installed but that will be a few weeks down the road because it will take me that long to declutter the room and closet before any work can get started. Today I’m sharing my MAJOR Overall Finale on the downstairs.

The downstairs had laminate flooring which looked okay but after I saw the new LVP going in upstairs I decided to do the two downstairs living rooms also. These rooms open to each other and both had a red accent wall but I painted the front room gray and I like it better, it’s so much brighter. My next project will be to do the same in the TV room.

I love the flooring downstairs! It is multi colored to bring out the grays, tans and creams in the room. Some say the draperies are outdated but I love the fabric. Rich and I made the cornice and draperies back in 2000 and to me they are perfect. My neighbor found this beautiful Angel lamp for me and the Angels on the shade light up, it’s perfect since I call this my Angel room.

The TV room floor is now complete. This room still needs the red wall painted gray and change the Harley decor into something else. But for now I’m happy with the three upstairs rooms and these two downstairs. It’s time to roll my sleeves up and move everything from my bedroom and closet to the center room and tackle the painting and flooring there! Wish me luck, hopefully I’ll have it finished before the October UBC is over!

Thank you for sharing your journey with updating your rooms. I especially like the TV room. It looks like a nice cozy space.
Thanks Jennifer, this is the first major updating since we purchased the house in 2000.
You’ve been busy! It must feel so good to see the progress after all that work. Wishing you luck with the bedroom and closet next!
Thank Megan, I’m really overwhelmed with everything that as to go in the MBR. But I’ll get it, a corner at a time!
Oooo, I love the new floors Martha! The rooms look great! Super sweet of your neighbor to gift the angel lamp.
Thanks Kimberly, even though the carpet was a light color, the never flooring seems so much brighter!
Wow, nice! I love the transformation of your spaces. It’s definitely looking better now than before. Good job, Martha.
Well the before was almost 28 years ago Danwil. LOL Room by room, I’ll get it done.
The Angel lamp is such a lovely personal touch — and the fact that you and Rich made the cornice and draperies yourselves makes them anything but “outdated.”
I love the Angel lamp Tamara but then again I’m partial to my angels. I told her that I’m more outdated than the window treatment! LOL
The floors look beautiful!! I can’t wait to see the bedroom. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Danelle, I managed to almost empty the bedroom today!
I hope that means you’re feeling better! Congratulations on everything you have done. It all looks terrific!
Well Jeanine, I seem to work whether I’m under the weather or not. LOL But yes I’m feeling somewhat better but the darn nose won’t stop running!
Great job!
Thanks Amanda, it was a lot of work but very happy with the results.
