January Blog Challenge is Completed
Today is the day those that participated in the Ultimate Blog Challenge have been waiting for, the January Blog Challenge is Completed! I started participating in this challenge on January 2016 and have completed every challenge since then! Yes, some months were a REAL challenge but I didn’t give up. Once I set my mind to something I am DETERMINED to complete it!
Congratulations to everyone that participated in this challenge and even if things got in the way and you weren’t able to complete every day, you are all still winners! You wrote many interesting blogs that were read, liked and shared by others and you probably met new bloggers or reconnected with previous challenge bloggers. Either way, a big congrats to all! This is a poem I wrote after the January 2018 challenge was over. It’s for all of you!
Ultimate Blog Challenge that’s the name,
Write a blog each day, that’s the game.
Four times a year it’s a win-win,
Old friends are back and new friends join in.
The comments and views on each blog we write,
Will help make your stats go out of sight.
The bloggers we meet have the same thing in mind,
To finish the challenge and don’t get behind.
The Ultimate Blog Challenge is over today,
But the friends we have met are here to stay.
I compared my stats from last January and this month, they were close to the same! I had 4571 views this year and 4489 views last year. Thanks to everyone who helped me reach that many views!
Look at the difference of a “non” challenge month, I had over 1500 more views during the Ultimate Blog Challenge!
Joining the Challenge
But joining in on the challenge isn’t just about increasing traffic, it’s about reconnecting to bloggers that have been in it previously and meeting now ones. For some we become Facebook friends and continue to share our blogs between challenge months. For others it’s knowing they will be their to help bloggers out with problems with their blog. This just happened to me the other day when I was trying to highlight a keyword to turn into a link. I had a handful of people offer their assistance within minutes! The bloggers in the challenge are like a family!
So the month is over, the January challenge is done and 31 blogs have been written. I like to go back and see which blogs had the most traffic and this was my findings.
My granddaughter wrote a blog about how her and Stevie came up with their baby’s name. It was much more that led up to the naming including the heartbreaking story of 19 years of abuse but how prayer and Faith got her through. Even though it was overly long, this was the blog had the most views for the month. http://themarthareview.com/howd-you-pick-that-name/
My blog with the second highest views was one I wrote when my 101 year old mother-in-law passed away on January 13. Both my mom and dad also passed away in January in previous years but when someone passes on, a new life appears to continue the circle. We are awaiting for our grandson and his wife to welcome their little one into the world any day! http://themarthareview.com/january-was-a-busy-month-for-god/
When something traumatic happens in your life, you can sit back and feel sorry for yourself or do like my niece’s boyfriend and keep a positive attitude. This was my third most popular blog for the month. http://themarthareview.com/traumatic-amputation-but-a-positive-attitude/
When I find pennies on the ground, I know my mom has sent them down from Heaven. When I found two pennies on the same day while in the emergency room, I knew my mom was with me. http://themarthareview.com/sharing-my-two-cents/
Winding out the top five is a blog I wrote about my granddaughter. Alexandra has always been a caring and giving person, always putting others first. http://themarthareview.com/why-is-she-so-special/
So where do we go now, are you planning on continuing to blog everyday? For me I would love to wrote daily but I know it would fit in my schedule. So my goal is to write one or two a week until I join in on the April Ultimate Blog Challenge! Sending Paul, the host of the challenge a big round of applause for everything he does to keep the challenge running smoothly. See you back in April Paul!
Mazal tov on completing the challenge.

That would be cool Vidya, we can have a theme song for the challenge! I love meeting new bloggers, re-connecting with the previous ones and reading all their great blogs! Get ready, April will be here before we know it! Congrats to you also for a job well done.
I am planning to write a few each week, but I know I can’t do every day. Congratulations on finishing! It is always wonderful to have you as a blogging buddy. Each time I look forward to your posts.
Thanks, I enjoy your posts also Jeanine, sure is fun sipping tea with you while we are miles apart! I already have ideas for the April challenge!
Wow, Martha! I like how you ended your last blog post for January with a comparison of previous years’ traffic to your posts. And to point out which ones had the highest readability. This gives me something to look forward to a year from now. I also plan on blogging twice a week between challenge months. Look forward to reconnecting with you and the rest of the UBC community in April!
I like to compare the traffic Aletha, it shows how great all the other bloggers are that read, share and comment on others blogs. I’m hoping to keep up with a few a week and I already have a few good ones for the April challenge! Glad you found the challenge and see you in April!
