Gift Book Idea
I had seen an advertisement for a Christmas gift book idea and decided to check it out. They had between 6 and 10 pages all with different messages as to what they were for. One was a movie time, low on cash, food on the go, time to shop and other ideas. Then on each page you would add either cash or a gift card. I though it was very clever. But me also being very clever came up with my own idea. It was near my daughter and son-in-law’s 8th anniversary and I wanted to give them something they could use and not just sit on a shelf. So I made my own version on an Anniversary gift book idea.

The pages I added were all things that I knew they would enjoy and use like grab a pizza, when you need to buy it now, comfort food, bird seed (they love their backyard birds), gas, Nathan’s Dairy Bar (their favorite ice cream store), go shopping and a romantic dinner. I had to add that since it was an anniversary book! Since it was their 8th anniversary I added 8 pages and added different cash amounts to each page.

When I had the pages all printed up and the dollar amount clipped to each page I added a cover page and an anniversary message at the end.

I made a road trip to Virginia to celebrate Chris and Bryon’s anniversary and we had their favorite meal, Raising Cane’s Chicken fingers and fries! They had fun opening their gift book and checking out each page. I like this idea for any occasion since it’s so hard at times to come up with ideas for both younger and older “kids”.

The following day they loaded me in the car and said we were going “somewhere” but didn’t tell me where. They are always taking me to fun places without telling me where we’re going! LOL Well we ended up taking a drive on beautiful country roads and ended up at the apple barn! Since the early hot weather in Virginia then a cold snap, it killed most of the apple blossoms so the apples had to come from neighboring Pennsylvania but they were still delicious. We had a nice day together just driving through the country. The next day I continued my trip to Albany, New York where I was going to meet my older sister. That will be another blog topic.
So did you get a gift book idea for either the holidays, birthdays or anniversaries? It was fun coming up with the different topics and put the personalized book together for Chris and Bryon.
