I received this beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s day from a family I help out now and then. The white lilies opened a few days later and were so pretty but little by little the flowers started to wilt and I took the good ones and put in a smaller vase.

I like to experiment with things and years back I added blue food coloring to pink roses and they turned speckled! They were so unique. So I did the same with these.

I added a few drops of blue food coloring to the clear glass vase and it even made that stand out but within a few days I had beautiful blue speckles and edging on the lilies and also on the pink flowers.

I loved the new look of my food colored flowers, if you haven’t tried this, give it a try for unique looking flowers!

Wow, thank you for the suggestion. Your bouquet is beautiful. Just please make sure to keep the bouquet out of Snowball’s reach. Lilies are toxic for cats and dogs.

I love flower arranging, too, and I really love the pictures. I’ll definitely think about that food coloring thing.

Thanks Alice, I love coming up with cool ideas! I definitely keep them and all flowers away from Snowball. If you make an arrangement with food coloring, I’d love to see a picture!
