It’s Friday Story Time by Lia again and I’ve been thinking up an idea to write about…. I got it! The other day I got a post card in the mail that had seeds in between the paper. It was to celebrate Earth Day but that was April 22nd. We are now into August, I think the card got lost in the mail. But anyway I decided to plant them and hope they grow into beautiful flowers from a post card.

I get excited when I got mail and when I got this post card I was extra excited because I also love flowers and gardening! Now I have to decide where to plant the seed post card.

Since most of our vegetables have finished growing, pop surprised me one day with lots of pinwheels! We “planted” all of them in the garden and it looks so pretty when I look out and see them spinning in the wind. I decided I would plant the flowers with the pinwheels!

First I loosened up the soil and flattened it out until it was smooth. If you’re wondering why I have my jammies on, it’s because I love going outside as soon as I wake up and that’s when I was doing my planting.

The soil was all prepared and next I put the seed post card on it and carefully covered it with a thin layer of soil I had pushed of to the side. After I covered the card, I patted the soil to make sure the card was fully covered.

The Earth Day seeds are planted and next I watered them. Now all I have to do is wait and watch to see if they will grow. So I can remember where I planted the seeds I put one of my garden owl statues over the spot where hopefully the flowers will grow.

I planted all kinds of wild flowers this spring and they grew into beautiful flowers. Ma had saved an old wheel barrow from the landfill last year and I turned it into a flower garden! These are some of the wild flowers that grew, aren’t they pretty? I hope the Earth Day flowers from a post card will grow beautiful also!

Now that the flower seeds are planted I have to think of something else to do today! Oh and don’t forget, FOURTEEN more days until I make a surprise blog announcement and 17 more days until I turn THREE YEARS OLD!
