Blogging is Like Baking

Blogging is Like Baking

Analogy – A comparison in which an idea or a thing is compared to another thing that is quite different from it. You may be wondering why I started my blog with the definition of Analogy, will it’s because the suggested topic of the Ultimate Blog Challenge for Day 21 is to COMPARE TWO THINGS and today I’m doing just that!  Blogging is Like Baking will be the two things that my analogy will be.

Now you may wonder how blogging and baking can be compared to another. First, I love blogging and once I start on an article I get so involved in it, I don’t stop.  Same with baking, I can decide to make a batch of cookies and the next thing I know, I’m making three different kinds!  Both keep my mind thinking, which is a good thing for an old mind like mine.

There are so many topics that I love to write about on my blog (one being my recipes) and there are so many recipes I love to bake up.  Both are creative in their own way, you are able express yourself in both blogging and baking, plus both can be shared with others and they in turn can share again. Same as cookies, they can be shared with others too, as long as I don’t eat them right out of the oven!  These are my Italian Drop Cookies that are so easy to make and so DELICIOUS! Here is the recipe if you want to try them:  http://themarthareview.com/italian-drop-cookies/

So now that I’m finished with my Day 21 blog, I’m off to eat some delicious chocolate chip cookies I made!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Your analogy is very approriate. I do believe in keeping our minds sharp through creative ways. Also I know some people may like your recipe. 😊

Thanks Elynn, I’m not an English major so I actually had to ask my granddaughter if I had the correct idea! LOL I’m not sure if I enjoy blogging or baking more! I think I’d have to say it’s a tie! Thanks for stopping by.

You have me thinking, when this blog challenge is done, I might try baking. I believe the eating of cookies will as enjoyable as commenting on others’ posts.
On the other hand, blogging does not add calories to the daily total.
Baking will add more steps to my pedometer than sitting at a keyboard.
In conclusion, I should do both.
    Blog on and bake off?

    • Martha says:

You figured that out perfectly Doug! I like your thinking of burning calories while baking, there is walking to the pantry to get the ingredients, stirring the pot and even bending over numerous times to get the cookies in and out of the oven! I’ll have to remember this every time I bake! Thanks for visiting my bakery! LOL

  3. I’m coming over the next time you make a batch of cookies! And I totally see how blogging can be like baking. I am like you, I dive into it, and time can pass without my noticing.

Thanks for stopping by KemKem, I hadn’t thought about it either until I saw the suggested daily topic! It seemed to work and it got me to bake some cookies!
