Another Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

Another Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

A shared one of my sugar scrubs previously and today I want to share another coconut sugar scrub recipe with you.

Sugar scrubs are easy to make and healthy for your skin since there are no harsh ingredients.  The first one I shared is made by melting the coconut oil but I also make one without melting the oil and it’s a great project to make with your children. They can be flavored with your favorite essential oil and coconut sugar scrubs make great gifts.

This is my first recipe:   Flavored Coconut Sugar Scrub

This is my other recipe:

Add 3/4 cup of solid form of coconut oil in a glass bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until smooth.

Add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and mix well into the coconut oil.

Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil at a time. Mix and add additional oil for a stronger aroma.

Scoop out the mixture into a jar with a lid to keep fresh.

I don’t use any metal utensils when mixing my scrub.

Word of caution when using Coconut Oil…..                                                                                       DO NOT POUR COCONUT OIL DOWN THE SINK AS IT WILL CAUSE THE DRAINS TO PLUG UP.

When I use this for gifts, I print out instructions and ingredients then tie a ribbon around the jar.

Baby food jars are great to use and I also save any and all jars that I have from face cream.

Coconut sugar scrubs are easy to use, just rub a small amount into your skin and you will feel your skin tingle not to mention smell so good!   Rinse with warm water and be on the way to healthy skin without chemicals.

If you try my recipe, I’d love to know what you think of it.

That looks easy enough for me to try. Thanks, I love homemade scrubs, but sometimes they are more work than I want to go to, or they require ingredients I don’t have. Don’t have any essential oil, but I’m thinking that might be optional.

I like coming up with quick and easy ideas Nita! I actually like this recipe better than the one where I melt the oil. This one seems to be a bit thicker and easier to massage into your skin. Yes, the essential oil is optional, the coconut oil alone smells wonderful! Would love to hear how you like it if you make some.

I love making different sugar scrubs. I place mine in small jelly jars, to pass out as gift

I’ve read some of you blog posts about your sugar scrubs Sandy and I love the jelly jar idea. I like having sugar scrubs on hand for unexpected company or even for making up birthday or get well baskets. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. This one sounds great. I have made scrubs over the years. They are fun to make and make great gifts.

I love making these for gifts Brenda. I like making up gift baskets and adding the sugar scrubs. I’m thinking of trying one with brown sugar! Thanks for stopping by.
