55 years ago on July 29, 1967 Rich and I had a beautiful wedding at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady, New York. Our love story started on Christmas day 1965 when I met Rich on a blind date. You can read my True Love is Forever Strong story that tells about how we met when I was 16 years old and Rich was 19.

Fast forward to 2022 after two children, seven grandchildren and ten great grands we are still going strong. Since Rich and I even worked together at our interior decorating shop, we have basically been together 24/7 for all these years. Yes, there have been a few challenges along the way but at the end of the day we kiss each other and say I love you before we turn off the lights.

Tomorrow is our 55th anniversary and we are up in Schenectady New York where it all began. We will go back to St. Anthony’s church like we also did five years ago for our 50th anniversary and bring back so many wonderful memories of this day 55 years ago.

This is a poem I wrote for our 50th anniversary True love lasts forever.

Alexandra was with us for our 50th anniversary but Lia has never been to New York or met my older sister. I’m excited to have a mini reunion with both my sisters on Saturday.

We walked down to it!

Last evening Lia and I took about a mile walk along the Mohawk River and took pictures of some beautiful wildflowers. Stay tuned for a blog soon about all she found!

We had a great walk but I think it tired Lia out. We have more fun plans for today!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Thank you Amrita, I’m a bit late at replying but I’m getting them all done! I would say my one piece of wisdom is to work together and help each other grow and succeed. Also never end the day on a sour note, say I love you every evening.

Happy anniversary tomorrow. How sweet that you brought Lia with you. Time to build more memories for the three of you . I hope you enjoy where you are staying and have the greatest time! (I’m curious to know what the yellow flower is, too. I think the pink one is bee balm.)

Thank you Alana, Lia and her mommy went with us, it was a great! On one of Lia’s and my nature hike we saw so many beautiful wild flowers. This yellow one was Trefoil and Lia will be sharing more flowers we saw and what they are soon!
