Two Young People I Admire

Two Young People I Admire

I’m so excited to be participating in the April Ultimate Blog Challenge once again and I’m going to use the suggested topic to blog about today.  The topic is “Who Do You Admire and Why”, whether it be friend, family member, business partner, mentor or leader. I would love to write about my hubby who is my world but I did that last year.  If you want to check out that blog about how someone I met on a blind date, to my husband, terrific father, grandfather and great-grandfather plus my forever business partner, here is the link from last year.  http://themarthareview.com/who-do-you-admire-and-why/   Today I’m actually writing about two people I admire.

We have all read or seen when children are bullied by other children at school or their community.   Most parents are livid when this happens and they try to remedy the situation which they have all the right to do to protect their children.  But what about when parents bully their children?  What recourse do children have against this abuse?  There isn’t much they can do without more repercussions.   Two children I know had this happen for years and years. Finally the daughter left home just before her 18th birthday, she got a job and completed high school all on her own.   Her brother was put in foster care at 16 and while it was rough living in a new town, not knowing anyone and basically being on his own even though he had foster parents.  He continued school, graduated, got a job and saved money to buy himself a car.

The brother and sister hadn’t seen each other for almost two years and when she drove over from another state for his graduation, it was the best reunion anyone could ask for.

Fast forward four years, she is now happy with her love she met in 2015 and they are excited to introduce their precious little girl in August.  He has met a wonderful young lady who is there for him and he there for her.  While their younger years were not always the best, since they have been on their own, both have learned so much and grown up into wonderful young adults.

They are walking down the path of happiness and not looking back.   While they will probably always have inward scars, I am so proud of both of them and admire how they have moved on and walking down the path to success.

It is always wonderful when two people can rise above their rough beginnings to become admirable people. Hopefully their lives continue to be pleasant in the years ahead.
