Today is NATIONAL HUGGING DAY

Are you ready to share a hug? I hope so because today, January 21st is NATIONAL HUGGING DAY! What a great way to give and recieve something as simple as a hug and probably put a smile on your face at the same time.

When someone is down, it costs nothing to give them a hug and show them you care. It helps them know that you are there for them and everything will be okay. When you give or receive a hug it makes you feel good inside and out. Let others know they are loved and cared about always.

Just think about it, if you aren’t feeling well, a hug from someone shows they care. If someone is having a not so good day, a hug can show them that you are there for them. But some people give a hug for no reason other than they want to show their love and make a person smile. That’s how these two little playmates are, just sharing a hug for no reason.

The picture from one year ago is when Alexandra and Stevie learned the gender of the baby they were expecting….it’s a daughter! Definitely a reason for a hug.

My lap is plenty big enough to hug two of my great grandchildren.

Even a baby feels the warmth in a hug from GGpapa. Yes GGpapa’s hair is not combed but I love the love in the second picture with Lia hugging papa’s cheeks. Just look at the love in her eyes.

A group hug is a wonderful way to show happiness, love and joy. This is our 50th wedding anniversary with hugs from our oldest grandson and his beautiful wife.

This picture is about 20 years old but I smile everytime I see it. Our granddaughter was only 3 years old when she was hugging her little brother, you can feel the love just looking at their faces. Their little sister was hugging Papa when we surprised her at her school’s grandparents day celebration. Since we lived 1000 miles away she never thought we would show up!

The love of a mother and child is so special and a hug bonds them even more.

So I’m ready to give you a hug! While today is National Hugging Day go celebrate with hugs to your loved ones, friends and even a stranger. You just might make their day a little brighter and receive a warm hug back!
