It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a super CVS shopping so here’s my story, hope you can follow through!

We used the last bit of laundry detergent so I checked the fliers and saw that CVS had a variety of brands on sale so off Rich and I went to check them out yesterday.

The first special was 92 oz. TIDE, original price $19.49 each plus tax. The sales price was $12.99 each, that’s $6.50 savings per bottle right there. Regular price on the 3 bottles of Tide would have been $58.47 plus tax.

I had a $3.00 Tide coupon for one bottle, an $8.00 ExtraBuck from previous shopping, and another 73 cents from 2% back in ExtraBucks. After deducting these amounts I saved another $11.73 cents. These brought my total for the 3 large bottles of Tide to $27.24 plus $2.18 cents for tax. I paid a total of $29.42 instead of $63.15 for the Tide including tax. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!! There was also a special offer if you spend $30.00 from these products, you get $10.00 Extra Bucks back!

So here’s the rest of the shopping trip. They also had ALL and PERSIL detergent on sale plus offered $3.00 Extra Bucks if you spend $12.00 or more. I picked up two 36 oz. bottles of All, regular price $8.29 per bottle. But they were on sale for $3.49 each plus tax. To get to over $12.00 I also added a 40 oz. bottle of Persil, regular price $9.29 plus tax. This was on sale for $6.49 plus tax. Total amount at regular price would have been $27.60 including tax.

Here’s the breakdown on these three bottles. After deducting the sale price the three bottles cost $13.47 plus tax. But I also had a coupon for $1.50 off one bottle of All so now my total for the three bottles is $11.97. I also picked up some toothpaste for Lia so that brought the total up to $16.96. But do you remember me telling you I got $10.00 Extrabucks from the first part of my order? Well I used that on this order and it brought it down to $6.96 plus tax! So instead of my total being $30.86 plus tax, it was $7.52 including tax! Oh and I still have my $3.00 Extrabuck from this part of my purchase!

So here it is in a nutshell….. after coupons, markdown and Extrabucks, the three bottles of Tide was $29.42 and the toothpaste, 2 All and 1 Persil was $7.52! My out of pocket was $36.94 instead of $96.14 which I would have paid at full price. That’s a savings of $59.20!! I’ll take that!!

There is one more part of my story, I belong to some earning sites where I get points for surveys, running videos, shopping and other tasks. The points can be turned into cash or gift cards. So I got a free $50.00 CVS gift card from Swagbucks that I used to pay for my purchases and still have $13.06 left! Not a bad shopping trip at all. I ended up with 388 oz. of laundry detergent for $31.55, that’s should last me for awhile!

Rich always tells people not to get behind me at the register line because of me checking the prices as they are rung up, my coupons and Extrabucks! I was the only one in line when I made this purchase until I was just about finished and I noticed a lady standing to the side of me. Not sure how long she had been there!

  6. I’m so glad you mentioned Swagbucks. I’ve been looking for ways to save money for my family. I’ll have to check that company out. By the way, do you have any recommendations to get rid of stains off of clothes? My husband and I don’t like using bleach. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

I love Swagbucks and have been a member for almost 10 years Amanda. I’ve received a lot of gift cards throughout the years! If you sign up let me know and I can give you pointers. Let me think about a product that will help with stains.

Totally agree with Lily!! I try to do my online shopping this way (since most of our in-store shopping are at stores where there is really no couponing – but I ensure I look out for the on-sale items there)

You know I love any challenge Vidya! LOL But I also learned something new at CVS today. I can scan the UPC from my app and it pops up any digital coupon they have! That’s a real plus and time saver.
