Plans Changed in an Instant

It’s Friday Story Time by Lia but she’s taking the week off due to school and other projects going on in her life. But I have story about how my plans changed in an instant the other evening.

Wednesday evening my friends Deb, April and I planned a fun girls night out to go to the Halloween Night Fright in the next town. We left around 5:30pm to arrive 6:15 just in time for the festivities.

Well we didn’t quite make it. Deb stopped at the end of the off ramp to let a car go by and when she went to turn right on the connecting road, the truck behind her wasn’t either paying attention or he said the sun was in his eyes and he hit the back of her car with his truck so hard we didn’t know what hit us. April was in the back seat and recently had a shoulder replacement so I whipped around to make sure she was okay. As I turned I pulled some rib muscles but I was so worried about her. April’s husband came to the scene and took her to get checked out while Deb and I waited for the Highway Patrol. And waited…and waited… almost an hour for them to show up! Meanwhile Deb’s boyfriend was on his way home from work so he stopped at the scene also.

I was standing along side the car when I happened to look down at the asphalt and saw what looked like a tiny heart. I called it a sign from God that everything will be alright.

The officer was very nice, asking if we were okay or did we need the EMT’s. Deb and I were sore but we told him we would get checked out the next morning. The man that hit Deb’s car took full responsibility for the accident but since it was a company vehicle he said he would probably get fired.

After the report was filled out, the officer handed it to Deb but by now it was too late to go to the Halloween Night.

Kevin was hungry so we decided to go to Logan’s Roadhouse for dinner and was it delicious. But as always, I can never eat my meal so I brought the leftover steak and half a baked potato home,

I went to get my back checked out yesterday morning, had an x-ray and no fractures. but they scheduled an MRI for Monday due to some questionable discs. Deb also went to her doctor to get checked out.

After I came home I decided to pull my leftovers out of the fridge and make breakfast from them! I added some butter to a frying pan and scooped out the potato from the skin, tossed in the cut up steak and added an egg. It was a delicious breakfast and I even buttered up the potato skin, I love them!

It was a lazy day for me, I had to put painting my bedroom on hold until next week. I have one wall painted and had planned to paint a wall each day and have it completed by Saturday but that’s not happening however it will get done.

On a good night I got the master bath almost completed over the weekend. The color doesn’t show up good, it’s more like the first picture with the window wall a shade darker than the walls.
