Pennies From Heaven Plaque for Mom
Last January my granddaughter Allison found a Facebook post about a heart shaped plaque made with dimes. I immediately know I had to make a Pennies From Heaven Plaque for Mom.
Everytime I see a penny on the ground, I pick it up and look up to Heaven because I know it was from my mom. Some of them show up at the most needed times. When our 20 year old granddaughter was facing major surgery a few years ago, I checked all the drawers in the hotel room but no penny. When my granddaughter got there, she started looking through the drawers but I told her I already had done that. She then found a penny in the night stand next to the Bible. It had to by mom letting us know she was with us. This is the blog I wrote about some of the pennies I found from mom and what they meant:

I started planning my penny plaque the end of January and I found an old frame, where else but at the side of the dumpster! That was all I needed to get my creative juices going! Next with the help of my sweet hubby, we cut a piece of plywood the size of the frame. I painted that blue for the sky and spray painted a light layer of white over it to look like clouds.
After I collected my jar of pennies from mom I drew a heart on the plywood and started gluing the pennies inside the heart. Some are old, some are new, some are worn but all from mom.
Since the wooden frame didn’t look all that great, I knew it needed a paint job. I decided to paint it yellow for the sun, since my mom was always a ray of sunshine, happy and singing.
Mom loved flowers so I added a border of our dried rose buds around the heart and wrote “Pennies From Heaven” in the corner of the plaque.
I nailed the plywood on the back of the frame, creating a shadow box type of frame. There was just enough depth from the penny heart to the glass to give it a 3D effect. Next I added a wire holder to hang on the wall above my beautiful Angel statues.
My Pennies from Heaven plaque for mom is completed for Mother’s Day. I know she will look down from Heaven with her beautiful smile and love it. Mom was the kindest and most loving mom a daughter could ask for.
I love it! Now may those pennies from heaven morph into Jeffersons from the USA for you!
Thanks Roy, I enjoyed making this as much as I enjoy looking at it and seeing memories of my mom. I’ll wait and see if they morph into Jeffersons!
That’s a beautiful plaque. Blessings to you!
Thanks Audrey, it has so many memories from the pennies mom sent down. Thanks for visiting.
Those pennies have turned out to be something really beautiful.
Thank you Shubhra, I’m pleased with how the heart turned out. I wonderful memory of my mom.
Oh, it’s so beautiful, Martha!! I absolutely love it! May it inspire ways to remember my own mom and honor her memory.
Thank you Jeanine, it’s been almost 20 years and I still miss my mom as much as I did when she passed away. But I know she is not in pain and she still guides me along the way.
