NO MILK NO PROBLEM

NO MILK NO PROBLEM

I like to follow the National Calendar Days to see what is being celebrated each day.  Some of the days are prefect for me like today, Sunday July 23rd it’s National Vanilla Ice Cream Day.  Now vanilla ice cream is not my favorite, I need my chocolate!  But this worked out perfectly since I ran out of milk and no milk no problem!

We are going out-of-town tonight but I ran out of milk on Friday and knew I wouldn’t use even half a gallon in the next few days so I didn’t bother getting any.  So when reading the National Day was Vanilla Ice Cream Day I knew exactly what to have for my Sunday morning breakfast! I had a very healthy breakfast of rich dark chocolate brownies (dark chocolate is good for you), topped with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.  See, I figured out how to have my milk without actually having it in a glass.  I also added fresh fruit to my breakfast.  Okay it’s not exactly fresh but it’s fruit. I had made a blackberry/raspberry sauce from fresh frozen berries for my salmon sauce. I had extra so I’ve used it as topping and it’s so good!  So I drizzled that over my milk, I mean ice cream and had a delicious, healthy breakfast. This is my blog with the recipe for my delicious berry sauce I made for salmon but found out it works great on deserts also:  http://themarthareview.com/super-delicious-salmon-sauce/

Doesn’t this look delicious? Once the ice cream melted a bit, it was just like drinking milk with my brownie! I love thinking outside of the box and Sunday was no different.  Next time you don’t have milk but have ice cream, your problem of no milk no problem is solved!

I read a blog from one of the bloggers participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge about a delicious Oatmeal Banana Spice Shake and since I’m trying to use up things before we leave, I’m going to try it today with my one lonely banana.   Check out this yummy recipe from Gaetane:  http://blog.gaetaneferland.com/oatmeal-banana-spice-shake/

Do you have “normal” meals or are you like me and have crazy breakfasts and even have breakfast for dinner at times?

It’s nice to find out someone else has Ice Cream for Breakfast as my dad would let us do that at times and so did my grandfather. So I do it with my children and my nephew. As for Milk I have and Brownies and can give you a glass for some Ice Cream as we are out. Although I love Vanilla and would be fine with it. Charlie would prefer Chocolate he says. Have a good day and a nice trip. As for the shake I also want to try it out soon.

Chocolate is definitely my favorite for ice cream but the vanilla worked great as my milk! (Charlie and I have great tastes I see) My grandmother would give us her homemade chocolate mayonnaise cake for breakfast, she told my mom it’s full of milk and eggs. The shake was delicious but I didn’t freeze the banana. Thanks for stopping by, we’re heading out soon!

About the only time I drink milk is with chocolate brownies or on cereal. I’m not much of a milk fan, the the ice cream did the trick! Thanks for visiting Bushra!

  3. Good thing you are a mom. Because I would be scolding you for such terrible choices. It HAS to be chocolate ice cream or pistachio.

Well chocolate is my all time favorite Roy except for when I have brownies. Gotta have cold milk with them but vanilla ice cream was the next best thing. 🍪
