My Vegetables are Growing

This is my last Friday Story Time by Lia for the April UBC, I’ve had so much fun sharing my blogs with you. Today I’m sharing how well my vegetables are growing!

Carrots

Our February weather was warm and sunny so I decided to plant some carrots from seeds. I usually start my seeds in cups and then transplant when they start growing but I wanted to see if they would grow this way. Two months later and look how big my carrot plants are! I can’t wait to see if I get carrots!

Peppers

Last fall when ma and I were freezing peppers from the garden we dried the seeds so I could plant them this year.

On March 10th, I got everything ready and planted the pepper seeds. First I filled the cups with garden soil, then carefully poked the seeds under the soil. I watered each cup, wrote the date on them and waited to see if they would grow.

On March 24th my little pepper seeds started to grow and grow! The other day they were big enough to plant in the garden!

Last week we planted the rest of the vegetables, yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant and lettuce for pop. My strawberries that I planted two years ago has the most berries it’s ever had and they are so sweet. Look at the little peppers and squash already starting to grow. I’m so excited to see how my vegetables are growing.

Fundraiser Update

Well the April Ultimate Blog Challenge is almost over and I’ve had such a fun time again sharing my Friday Story Time by Lia blogs with you all and thank you for all the views, comments and shares! Before I go I want to tell you about Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s Fundraiser which was held last Saturday. The garage sale was mostly rained out but the bake sale was a sell out! Between the garage sale and bake sale donations, I received over $500.00 to raise funds and awareness Alzheimer’s and Dementia. My total raised so far is over $1600.00!! The rain date will be tomorrow and ma said she would take over for me since I’ll be at my grandma’s for the weekend. See you next UBC!!

Your veggie garden looks fantastic, Lia, great job!
I am amazaed that your strawberries are already ripe. I guess it’s warmer in South Carolina than in Switzerland. You guys are wearing shorts and T-shirts, which confirms it.
    Happy Friday!

  3. Looking at the pictures of Lia planting carrot seeds reminds me of when I was her age and did that with my mom. I’m just smiling thinking of Lia looking back when she’s a granny and having so many great memories of her experiences with you.
