Lia’s Twelve Day Countdown – Day 12
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY PRINCESS LIA FAITH!!! You have sent so much love and joy to so many people, some you don’t even know have been affected with your beautiful smile. You have shown compassion since you were a tiny one and continue to spread your happiness to everyone that passes by. I have had fun putting this mini-series together of Lia’s Twelve Month Countdown – Day 12 being the last. Looking back through all of Lia’s photos I have taken it’s been hard to narrow them down to the ones in each month. But this month has been another awesome month of photos and smiles!
What an exciting way to end a year of excitement! It was GG papa’s birthday the end of July so mommy, daddy, Lia, and GG mama took GG papa out to dinner. Lia is so good in a restaurant, she colored pictures while patiently waiting for her food.
Taking about food, there isn’t anything that Lia won’t try and the Mandarin oranges were new to her. She opened her mouth wide for a bite but didn’t realize they were cold and look at the face she made when chewing them. At first I thought she might not like them but she opened her mouth like a baby bird for more! The smile on her face tells it all.
It was pool party time for Lia and a little neighbor girl. This was the first time Lia had been in our community pool and she loved the water! She didn’t even mind going underwater for a quick dip.
Being outdoors is one of Lia’s favorites when she comes visit. She seems to sense the love in her great grandmother’s memory garden as she always walks over to see her flowers. I love the picture of Lia holding a rose, her smile says it all, “I have a smile I’ll share if anyone needs it.”
What a little helper Lia is! When GG papa is doing yard work, Lia is right there ready to help. She loves picking up the pine needles and putting them in her wagon.
I can’t get over how smart this little on is! Lia was tapping on the bottom of her treat can with the tips of her tiny fingers. Shen then flipped the can over to the plastic top and did the same thing. She spend a good amount of time just turning the can and listing to the different sounds it made from the metal to plastic.
Sometimes watching a baby hide is hilarious. Lia would put her hand or even her treat can over her eyes and when we asked “where’s Lia” she would start laughing as she showed her eyes. Her latest place to “hide” is under GG papa’s side table. You can’t see her at all! LOL
Look at the big fish that daddy caught on an early morning fishing trip with Lia and daddy. Of course while Lia was strolling around she found some flowers! Mommy dubbed her as their little flower child!
Beautiful memory pictures of Lia in the garden. She loves to pick and smell the roses.
“Hey mommy I found your old Frogger video game!” Our granddaughter loved her Frogger video game from a long time ago so when we found one at Crackerbarrel we got it for her birthday a few years ago. Now Lia can share another one of mommy’s memories.
With so many smiles in her past year, I had to share the other side. Lia is doing so well at feeding herself with a fork. But when she threw a piece of egg on the floor, I told her not to do that. Of course she looked at me, smiled and did it again. I told her sternly not to threw her food and she looked at me with big tears starting to fall. But it worked, she stopped tossing the eggs and started eating them again, her smile was back. It’s cute to watch her decide if she wants to use her right or left hand to hold her fork.
After 20 years of the grandchildren diving from the sofa to Papa’s recliner to snuggle with him, it was time for a new one since the arm and seat had seen better days. There were so many memories in the old blue recliner. When the new one was delivered, Lia had to check it out. After finding her spot next to GG papa, she looked at him as if to say, “This is just perfect for you and me papa!”
Come nap time, Lia realized there was a problem with her sleeping spot on her recliner. Because the old one was so “broke-in” she was able to slid her feet in a space between the seat and arm where she would get comfy for napping. That space is gone on the new recliner but it took Lia almost 20 minutes trying to find it. She finally realized it wasn’t working but even though her sleeping angle is different, it still works because his hanging on to GG papa’s arm.
“I found out what my teeth are for! Look at me biting my toast like a big girl!” There have been so many milestones in Lia’s past 12 months and I’ve tried to hi-light as many as possible so Lia can look back at all the memories when she is older. My plans are to make Lia’s 12 Day Countdown into a book and give it to her when she graduates high school. Today is Princess Lia’s first birthday and I can’t imagine what she will be doing throughout the next year! I do have a feeling she will continue to share her smile with the world. This is Lia’s Twelve Day Countdown – day 11 if you missed it. http://themarthareview.com/lias-twelve-day-countdown-day-11/
This is fantabulous!
Love those pictures.
Thanks Roy, I was in awe when I saw the “sand paintings”. It’s amazing how nature works.
Happy Birthday Lia! I really enjoyed this series. All these posts make me smile. 🙂
