Lia’s Projects for Mother’s Day

Hi there, I’m Lia the Baby Blogger back with a few handmade Mother’s Day presents I made. They are super cute and easy to make so hang on to the information in case you want to make an adorable present for someone you love. Hope you like Lia’s projects for Mother’s Day.

Hand print Flowers

The first project was made with the help of my Great Grandmama as a Mother’s Day present for my mommy celebrating her first Mother’s Day because of me! All you need is some heavy paper, paint (safe for babies like me), a few dowels or popsicle sticks plus a jar or vase with sand or stones in it.

To get started, my GG Mama painted my hands with blue paint! It felt so funny when I closed my hand but then I realized I needed to keep my hand flat when I put it on the paper. Hey look at that, my hand print is now on the paper! We made a few hand prints and each one was different because I kept moving my fingers. But that’s okay, they still looked good!

While the paint was drying, Mama washed my hands real good so there was no evidence left when I went back home. After my hand prints were dry, Mama cut them around my fingers to make them look like flowers! Then we taped a stick to the back to make a stem.

My first hand print attempt didn’t look like a hand at all, it looked more like a blob or a butterfly but Mama turned it upside down and cut it in the shape of a heart! That was very clever, now I could write a message on it for my mommy.

After we added some colored sand and some glass beads to a jar and added a pink ribbon, Mama helped me place the flower hands in the jar to look like a bouquet of flowers.

After Mother’s Day dinner, I gave mommy my hand print flower bouquet and she loved it!

Finger painting Masterpiece

So I made mommy a Mother’s Day present at Papa and Mama’s house but I was also secretly making Mama a present at home with mommy! Mommy got some cool finger paints in lots of colors and she let me get it on my fingers and paint on a piece of poster board. It was so much fun getting my hands all painted up and making beautiful pictures for my Grandma and Great Grandmama.

Great Grandmama was so excited when I gave her the painting I made and it even had my hand print on it! She said presents like this mean so much to her because it’s a gift from the heart.

I know she will already have it hanging on the wall when I go visit in a few days. I can’t wait until my Grandma sees her picture!

Personalized Mug

I wanted to show you another present I helped created for mommy and Mama made a video to show you.

Mama looked through her photos and found three that were perfect for a personalized mug! There is a picture of the day I was born, one when I was 6 months old with mommy and another with me sitting in front of my Great, Great Grandmama’s garden when I was 8 months old. Mama created this online by placing the pictures and added text to a mug template.

Mommy now has a special mug to remember her 1st Mother’s Day! Mama really likes York Photos for personalized creations and they even have free items at times!

I’ll be back soon with another blog post but for now I need to think of some cool ideas to make for Father’s Day, I better get busy.
