Last UBC for 2026

I’d like to welcome everyone back to the last UBC for 2026 and introduce myself to any newbies to the challenge.
The UBC, Ultimate Blog Challenge is held four times a year, January, April, July, and October. The challenge is to write a blog each day of these months. This will be my 44th consecutive challenge and I’ve meet so many wonderful bloggers. Of course this would not be possible without our great host, Paul T. how is the backbone of this group. The rules are simple, post your blog and read and leave a comment on at least the two blogs before you. If you are the first, take two at the end. My personal goal is to try to make it to 50 blogs before I retired at 80 years old. We’ll see how far I get. The bones are getting tired and the eyes don’t see as well but I’m giving it my all.

My great granddaughter, Lia also joined in my blog when she was about 2 years old. She turned 8 in August and she writes her blogs on Friday Story Time by Lia if time permits between school and other activities. Also we can’t forget the blogs that my sweet Maltipoo who adds some fun in the challenge.
As for me, I wrote mostly about my life, my family, happenings, decluttering and food! My life changed drastically Easter morning 2024 when my husband passed away. We had been together since 1965 but I know he is still with me in spirit. So my memory blogs keep me going. This month will be full of surprises, most of you know I am always decluttering and reorganizing. This past month has been busy!
Lia visited for the entire month of July and it was so great to have her with me and Snowball. She lives in Indiana and she started 3rd grade a week after she returned home and she turned 8 on August 23rd. She is the smartest and sweetest 3rd grader I know! (Okay I might be a bit partial LOL)
I like to start the challenge with a poem I wrote a few years back to get things rolling:

So a big welcome to all the participants from Lia, Snowball and me! Let’s BLOG ON!

How special that Lia has been part of your blog for so many years, and that you have those memories to look back on as she grows. I love that your blog has become a place to share both your everyday life and the memories that keep your husband close.
Thank you Barbara, sometimes I feel like my blog is more of a journal on my life.
