Last Day of the July Challenge is GGPapa’s Birthday

I’m so excited and have to tell you why. First it’s the last day of the July Challenge and it falls on a Friday! That means My Friday Store Time by Lia will be the ending blog of the challenge! How exciting to be a part of this awesome challenge and group of bloggers! But it’s also another VERY special day, it’s my GGpapa’s birthday! So sit back and enjoy my post because the last day of the July Challenge is GGPapa’s birthday!

Papa and I go way back to the day I was born on August 23, 2018 and we have done so many fun things together but I was also learning at the same time. Who ever thought you could be learning while having so much fun.

When I was a few months old, papa surprised me when we weren’t home and painted my bedroom! I love the new look with my pink trim!

This is me “dancing” with papa at Christmas. They were taken a year apart at 4 months and 16 months, look I much I grew in a year! I love my papa so much!

“Come on papa, let’s go for a walk!”

I always heard mommy, mama and papa talk about Jersey Mike subs but never had one. It took 9 months before I finally got to taste one and was it delicious! Thanks papa for hooking me up with Jersey Mikes!

If you’ve noticed from my blogs I sit with papa in his chair when I nap. But I also love to just crawl up with him and have a little kid to man talk with papa. We discuss a variety of topics and for some reason papa always agrees with me.

I have so much fun going to the beach and watching all the seagulls. I love birds and have never seen so many at one time! Papa and I just strolled along the shore watching the birds and waves.

This is where papa taught me to whisper. He said people are praying and we have to be very quiet so we don’t disturb them. I love the pretty windows he showed me on the way to light a candle. When we go to church I whisper.

My favorite thing papa and I did was create my garden. I’ve posted about that before but it just makes me so happy to see how beautiful it is and know that I helped plant the flowers, add the decorations and watch it grow! There is a lot of love in my Reflection Garden. Thank you papa for all the love you put in it for me. You can catch up on my garden here: http://themarthareview.com/lias-reflection-garden-chapter-3/

Yesterday was mama and papa’s 53rd wedding anniversary and they told me they best gift they could receive was watching me spruce up my garden.

Papa has trouble walking at times with his rheumatoid arthritis but when it’s time to take me on a hike he doesn’t think about the pain, just how much fun I’m having. This is one of our favorite hiking spots! It’s near the Intercoastal Waterway but also has wooded hiking trails. We have so much fun! Our last hike was four miles and I was tired when we got home but I sure had a great time hiking with papa.

Making Papa’s birthday gift

I’ve been working on papa’s birthday gift with mama. I colored popsicle sticks and mama wrote the message on them. After we glued them in a square, I added more glue and we put the picture on the back of the square. I think it turned out great! Papa was so surprised because this is one of his favorite pictures of me and him!

Making papa’s birthday cake was a challenge! Since I’m always glued to papa we had to figure out how to bake a cake for him. Mama figured it out! I made banana bread yesterday so before we made that, we made pop’s birthday cake. Last night mama hid the cake in the closet and this morning we snuck the cake and frosting upstairs. I decorating it in the bathroom while papa thought I was taking a bath! Papa loved the cake, I loved the sprinkles!

I love my papa so much and he makes me so happy just being with him. We take walks in the garden, sit and talk about the day and just have a fun time. I want to wish my GGpapa the best Happy Birthday and I know it will be great because I’ll be with him celebrating!

Papa, I grabbed your hand the very first time you held me and I’m still grabbing for it almost 2 years later. We have a bond that will last forever, we stick like glue! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GGPAPA and Love you so much!!!!
