Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops
It’s Friday Story Time by Lia again and since Ma has been sharing her recipes this week I thought I would share my ice cream cone cake pops. They are fun to make and delicious to eat!
I started with a chocolate cake and this is the easiest recipe I’ve ever made! Just add a can of soda to a cake mix! You can use any flavor of cake mix and soda. I decided to make chocolate cake pops so I used chocolate fudge cake mix and a can of Dr. Pepper. When I poured the soda in the batter it all bubbled up! I mixed it together and poured it in a 9″x13″ cake pan and baked what the directions said. The cake is very moist and I had to make sure Ma didn’t eat it before I made my cake pops! After the cake was cool, I started the next steps.
I took a large ice cream scoop of the cake and rolled it in a ball. Mine stuck together good but you can add a little frosting to the cake if your cake doesn’t stick into a ball. My cake pop balls are ready and next I made up frosting with confectionary sugar, vanilla flavoring and milk then I added food coloring to match the colors of the ice cream cones. I dipped the cake pops in the frosting and then in sprinkles.
To keep the cake pop from falling out of the ice cream cone I added some of the frosting around the inside of the cone before I put the cake pop on top.
My ice cream cone cake pops were fun to make and delicious to eat! Look at all those sprinkles! After these were all done, Ma suggested to try using candy melts instead of frosting so it would be thicker and more colorful. I’m going to do that next time I make these. Did these make you want to take a bite and do you think I added enough sprinkles? LOL
So cute!!
My 12 year old granddaughter loves to bake – always fun to taste test!
You should have you make some Nadya, they’re easy and so much fun.
The photos definitely made me want to have a bite! They look so yummy! And I love all the sprinkles!
They are delicious Joanna and Lia had a fun time making them.
Lia, these look scrumptious! May I just come over with a large spoon and a glass of milk, and just eat the cake by spoonfulls out of the pan? Then you can use the pretty pops for something special. 🙂
SHHH Kebba, that’s what I did with some extra cake! LOL
Lia, in the pictures, you look like you are having a great time! And I bet the cake pops were delicious. It does sound simple too. maybe even I could do it. 🙂
These are so fun to make and delicious all rolled into one Jeanine! If you make them you Lia says you have to add LOTS of sprinkles!
Lia, once again you did a fantastic job – these look so delicious and cute! I think you used the right amount of sprinkles. Then again, is there such a thing as too many sprinkles? 😉
Your watch’s wrist band perfectly matching the scones, did you notice?
These cake pops are so fun to make Tamara. Lia love baking and these were fun and easy plus very colorful with her sprinkles. Lia said thank you and yes her watch matches your sprinkles!
Those look so good, Lia. 🙂
It was as much for to watch Lia make as it was for her to make them Amanda.
