Homemade Artisan Bread
I received an 8 1/2″ Artisan Bread Proofing Basket in exchange for a review but since I have never made bread, I thought this would be the perfect time to try making homemade Artisan Bread. The basket is the perfect size for putting the dough in while rising. It’s made from 100% natural rattan and along with the basket, it comes with a fitted cloth liner and a brush.
Before I used the proofing basket for the first time, I conditioned it with a light layer of flour, making sure I got in all the cracks between the rattan.
I found a 5 Minute Artisan Bread recipe on Food.com and it was so easy to make. The ingredients are water, yeast, salt (which I did not use) and flour. I cut the recipe in half because it makes 4 loaves and I wanted to make sure it would turn out good and I surprised myself and it turned out great!
This is the recipe I used:
My first attempt at making homemade Artisan Bread was a success! It doesn’t look like a blue ribbon winner but it sure tastes delicious!!

Interesting, have never heard of a proofing basket!
I hadn’t either until I reviewed it! When my grandmother used to make bread when I was a little girl, she just used a bowl with a towel over it! Now I’m ready to experiment on other breads! Going to try to find grandma’s cheese bread recipe! Thanks for stopping by Savvy Age!
It looks yummy enough for me to eat!!! Pass apiece over my way please!!
Sending the last piece your way Sandy! For my first bread attempt, I was happy with the results. Thanks for stopping by.
