Garden Photography Challenge – April

Garden Photography Challenge – April

This is the third month I have participated in the Garden Photography Challenge I found from another blog, Small Blue Green Flowers.  Each month the challenge has a different theme and it so exciting to come up with photos for the challenge.  The theme will change on the first Sunday of each month. You are invited to join in by posting one or more of your own photographs within the month that fit into the theme and either add a link  in your post to mine so I can see your beautiful photos.  I have a link at the end of my blog if you want to join in on the challenge and add the Tag #GardenChallenge  so others can find yours.

The March Challenge was Wildlife in the Garden and here is my blog link if you missed it:

I’m excited for the April challenge of Macro or closeups of anything you would find in a garden.

We haven’t started our vegetable garden yet but our flowers are beginning to bloom and look lovely.   We have many rose bushes and they are my favorite.  My hubby has a green thumb and grows the most beautiful flowers.   This is one of the first rose buds I saw the other day.

This is one of my favorite rose photographs. I love the dew drops just waiting to drop off.

I can almost smell this rose every time I see these two photographs.   This is a two tone rose that is mostly light pink with hints of soft yellow on the underside of the petals.   These photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy 5 and have not been edited.

Another beautiful flower that is in full bloom now is our azalea bushes.  These were my mom’s favorite and when she passed away we planted a small bush in a memory garden for her.  Every time I see them, I know she’s looking down smiling.  I took this photo early morning, again with dew drops.

When we came home from work, the buds that I had taken in the morning had opened into a beautiful full bloom.  Azaleas are beautiful but they don’t have a long blooming season.  But we enjoy the beautiful in photographs when the season for them is over.

Definitely not as pretty as the flowers, but I’m excited to get our vegetables planted in the garden.  The plants are getting strong and growing great in the little peat pots so soon we will plant this summer squash and wait for squash blossoms.

Of course no garden would be complete without little bugs.  I snapped a photograph of this lady bug napping on a rose leaf and just had to add it to this closeup to the Garden Photography Challenge.

I hope you have enjoyed visiting the closeup photographs of my garden flowers.  Do you have a garden, either flowers or vegetables?  I’d love to see your photos!! If you decide to join in on this challenge, please tag me so I can see your great photos!    #GardenChallenge

Thanks Ramya! I only use my phone camera but sometimes it takes me a few shots to get the perfect angle! Thanks for visiting my garden!

Haven’t really got the time to do challenges like this but I do like viewing the resulting photographs

I don’t either Bill but I’m always taking photos of something and the garden challenge was perfect for writing a blog about! Thanks for visiting!

I actually had my blog written and then I realized they topic was “things found in the garden” so I went back and added the ladybug! A perfect ending to my blog story. Thanks for visiting Andria.

How does the challenge work? Is it one blog post per month, based on the theme or is it a daily post sort of thing? I love your flower pictures. Mine are… well… a bit snowy, but I did take pictures today, and I have a few pictures from last week, when it was snow-free. I could make a post with all of these flower pictures on… um… Thursday (f is for flower).

I love all the close ups. i enjoy taking close up of things. I find it hard to do on my smart phone. I do great with my digital camera thou.

    • Martha says:

I haven’t used a “real” camera in so long Sandy! I always have my phone with me and always snapping away. I did just learn to turn the HDR on and it adjusts the light so you pictures turn out better. Thanks for stopping by!
