Delicious Homemade Crab Cakes

YAY It’s Friday Story Time by Lia again! It’s also write about anything we want for the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge so I’m taking the spotlight. I get so excited when I can share exciting blogs and today I’m cooking again! Mama had a opened package of imitation crabmeat that we had to use up before we went away so I helped her make some delicious homemade crab cakes!

Crab Cakes Recipe

First we shredded the crabmeat into small pieces and measured out 3 cups. Next add 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs and one egg.

After all these ingredients were added I mixed them all together. It’s already looking so good!

Next we added some different seasonings, celery salt, minced onions and seasoned pepper. I mixed all that together and we were ready to make our crab cakes!

Mama added a small amount of Avocado oil to a frying pan and made a small crabmeat patty. It smelled good but it didn’t hold together when she flipped it over. So we used that one for our taste test. It was delicious! But we needed to come up with another idea so they would hold together while cooking.

We figured it out! Mama came up with the idea of putting the crabmeat in cupcake pans so I ran to the cupboard and grabbed the pan! We rubbed the Avocado oil around the sides and bottom of each cup and put a scoop of the crabmeat mixture in each one. I helped mama put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

The crab cakes smelled so good while baking and soon it was ready for a taste test. They held together and mommy and mama ate them like cupcakes! Of course I grabbed one and gave it a try. Mama and my delicious homemade crab cakes passed the test taste, super delicious and an easy recipe for a snack or to go with a meal!

Hope you all have a great weekend, if the weather is nice I’ll be outside swinging but I’ll be back with another Friday Story Time by Lia before you know it!

Yes she does Vidya! It brings back memories of my grandmother and me when I was younger when I cook with Lia. Hopefully she will remember the same cooking memories that her mommy still holde on to when she was younger.
