Color of the Day is Copper
We are on Day 22 of the Color of the Day Challenge. I know immediately what I was going to share for the Color of the Day is Copper.
YES, a shiny copper penny that my mom sent down from heaven. This was the penny I found just before our 50th wedding anniversary on July 29, 2017. It’s extra special because the year of the penny is 2017 also! I carried this penny, along with other special memories from my mom and dad to the church when we renewed our vows. http://themarthareview.com/pennies-from-heaven/
Everytime I find a penny, I look above and tell my mom I love her. I would save all her pennies in a jar and last year I made her a Mother’s Day gift out of them.
I spray painted a piece of plywood, drew a heart on it and glued the pennies from heaven that mom tossed down around the heart. My mom loved flowers so I added a border of our dried roses around the heart. The frame I painted yellow to surround the heart with sunshine. Oh and by the way, I found the frame in the dumpster last year! This is the blog I wrote write after Mother’s Day last year. http://themarthareview.com/pennies-from-heaven/
From pennies to ammo! A few of the different copper tip bullets we have.
copper tip 9mm Luger copper tip 38 special
copper tip 22 hollow point copper BB’s
When coming up with copper ideas I forgot all about our variety of copper tip ammo.
Yes back to the garden for a bit more copper! This is a copper water sprinkler that is used as a decoration in Lia’s Garden.
So pennies from heaven, copper tip ammo to a copper garden decoration, that about covers the Color of the Day is Copper for me!
I love the pennies from heaven.
Thanks Brenda, I have the plaque hanging on the wall between my angel collection. I know mom is watching over us.
You do know that pennies are made of zinc, since our government won’t spend that much more than the coin is worth to produce it, right?
Yes Roy, but they work for copper color! I also have the 1943 Zinc pennies in my collection!
Copper is so shinny. I loved your heart you made with the pennies.
Thanks Amanda. I think of my mom every time I pick up a penny and every time I see they penny plaque.
