Ask Me Anything

We are half way through the August Ultimate Blog Challenge already! Today I’m using the suggested topic where readers can ask me anything (well within reason) I hopefully I’ll have an answer. So do you have a question for me or Lia? Bring them on, we are ready!

I have had people ask about blogging, recipes, gardening, sewing and general knowledge. They even ask Lia questions about her everyday activities. So put your thinking cap on and come up with a question or two for us.

If you have a question just leave it in the comment section at the end of the blog and I will reply to it. But another cool thing about my readers question is that some day you may see a blog written about your question! I will write a blog and answer the question for the world to see!

How simple is this and it’s fun to see the questions my readers ask. So come on, do you have a question? Ask me anything because Lia and I are ready and excited to answer them!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

I want to know how you started a sewing business and the minky blanket business managing so much?

Great question Amrita! I think I’ll have to post a blog about this since many people ask about how we started. In a nutshell, I was always watching my grandma sew when I was younger. As I grew older I would help her sew. Never had formal sewing lessons, I just learned by watching. I started my sewing business right after Rich and I got married, mainly doing alterations and dressmaking. It expanded to menswear and then bridal and formal wear. The next chapter was adding the window treatments and bed and bath ensembles. Rich and I enjoyed this aspect so much and we knew we had to focus on one thing so that’s how we ended up doing interior decorating. The minky blankets came about when Lia was born. I made her a blanket for her baby shower and Alex said we should start a minky business so that’s just what we did! LOL I’m so happy that Lia is interested in sewing and hope she will continue to keep the art of sewing alive for another generation if only for her own sewing. Thanks for the question!

What would Lia photograph if she had the camera and were taking the pictures?

    • Martha says:

Great question Alice! Lia loves taking selfies! LOL But she also runs around and takes pictures of who ever is at the house. Of course she loves taking photos of her flowers too! We bought her a “kids” camera but after getting it realized it’s more of a toy. We’re looking into something “real” but at a very beginner level since she loves taking photos! Thanks for the question!

  3. Hi Martha and Lia, what adorable pictures! My question for you two is what is your next state park adventure? Thank you for your blog question. Sending lots of love and hugs. Jaime

    What is your favorite color?

    • Martha says:

My favorite color is blue, it always has been! When I was in grade school, Crayola crayons had a Prussian blue and it was always my favorite! Thanks for the question Amanda!
