Another Challenge Under My Belt
For the month of August I participated in the A to Z Food Challenge and it was quite exciting to find foods that started with each letter of the alphabet. I did have a few letters that almost stumped me to find a food but when I work on a challenge, I don’t give up! This has been the 5th challenge in a row that I have completed since April! Actually between Lia and I we have written 37 blogs for the month of August. I’m so excited to have another challenge under my belt. Thank you Glenda of The MommiesReviews.com and her son Charlie for hosting this fun challenge! Now wait until you see what’s coming in September!!
Some of my foods were foods from our garden like eggplant, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchini plus some delicious recipes that Lia shared like her banana bread and two different zucchini bread. Lia’s Banana Bread is so good with applesauce added to the recipe and she has shared it with many neighbors who love it.
This is Lia’s Zucchini Bread made with brown sugar and pecans. Because of the brown sugar, the bread is dark.
Her other batch she added lemon and was this delicious. This is her Lemon Zucchini Bread made with buttermilk! There is no brown sugar so the bread is lighter and very moist.
My favorite letter was “S” with salmon and my Super Delicious Salmon Sauce. It doubles as an ice cream topper if you have left overs!
A few letters had me scratching my head, the hardest was “X” but I managed to find Xigua a fruit found in Africa which is also known as watermelon!
Thanks to Lia for helping me keep the letters of the alphabet in order so I knew what letter was next! I wasn’t quick enough with my phone to get the beginning of the alphebet but I thought it was cute how she paused at “X” to pick up a kernel of corn. That was my most challenging letter! Hope you enjoyed the A to Z Food Challenge and thank you all who visited my blogs.
BUT NOW FOR EXCITING NEWS!!!! Do you remember I said I completed 5 challenges on a row? WELL starting September 2020 I will be participating in another challenge! This one is the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge! My blogger friend Jeanine Byers who writes her blog https://www.coloranalysisforwomenofcolor.com/blog and myself with http://www.themarthareview.com will be hosting this challenge. There will be a Cornerstone Challenge every September, December, March, and May. This will be our first time ever of hosting a blog challenge and we are so excited.
