A to Z Food Challenge – K

Do you like Chili? Today is the A to Z Food Challenge – K! No, chili doesn’t start with the letter K but you need Kidney beans to make chili!

Kidney beans are mainly made up of carbs and fiber but also serve as a good source of protein. They come in a variety of colors including white, light red and dark red. Kidney beans are usually eaten well cooked. Did you know that raw or improperly cooked kidney beans are toxic? But well-prepared beans can be a healthy part of a well-balanced diet.

Chili is so easy to make, I use both dark and light Kidney beans and sometimes I even throw in a can of great northern beans with the tomatoes and ground beef. Here is my easy chili recipe with Kidney beans! http://themarthareview.com/chili-is-not-just-for-chilly-weather/

I always keep Kidney beans on hand because making chili is quick and easy plus it’s delicious. Eat it plain or add some melted shredded cheese to it! So are you ready to grab a few cans of Kidney beans and make some chili for the A to Z Food Challenge – K?

I never thought of that Vidya! I love onion and tomatoes with rice and sometimes and ground beef when making stuffed peppers. I’ll definitely add some kidney beans next time! Thanks for the tip.

I love chilli. I learned how to make it when I was at the rehab center for the blind. I really miss seeing my friends whom I met while being a student.
