A Question that Keeps Coming Up

We are up to day 12 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge already! I’m using the suggested daily prompt for my blog today. The prompt is to write a blog post today that answers a question that keeps coming up, over and over.

What is my favorite thing about blogging and when did I start my blog.

My FAVORITE thing about blogging is all the other bloggers that I meet through reading my blog. It’s so great to connect with bloggers from all around the world, read about the different niches they have and also learn from them.

When I started blogging in December 2014, I never thought I would be where I am today, it was mostly for product reviews but quickly grew. Little by little I would write about a different topic and then I realized I needed to add different categories. People were asking what my niche is and I would tell them it’s everything and anything I write about!! LOL But after the years have gone by and I now have many categories, I think it would be safe to say it lifestyle, family and of course helping others with couponing, saving money while shopping and photography!

I was not into writing other than the Bubbles groups where you write a post and people would reply. The Bubbles site was fun, I actually meet some writers that I now consider friends. I don’t remember the year this was but my granddaughter, Trinity was about 5 or 6 when I started. Trinity wrote a few of her own and she was nicknamed the Lil’ Kid by the readers. When she turned 10ish, I mentioned that she wasn’t a little kid any more so people started coming up with a new blog handle for her. It was decided she was now the Kewl Kid! The Kewl Kid is now 16 years old, just graduated from high school but my friends that knew her from Bubbles still ask how the Kewl Kid is!

The other favorite thing about blogging is having both my granddaughter, Alexandra and my great granddaughter, Lia Faith have joined with their own categories on my blog. Alexandra writes mostly on health and physcology and we all know Lia writes about her garden, baking, and just shares her smiles.

I never thought by writing a review blog on a Cabbage Patch Kid doll with Lia when she was 6 months old, it would turn into Lia’s Friday Story Time and how it has grown so much in just a year! http://themarthareview.com/first-cabbage-patch-kid/

When did I start my blog

I had thought about blogging for some time but thought, how does an old one know where to begin. Christmas day 2014 when I mentioned to my oldest grandson I was thinking of starting a blog sometime, he went to get his laptop and said, “let’s do it now!” Since I did product reviews, I wanted one mainly for that. He helped me set up a free WordPress account and we went back and forth about names. He came up with The Martha Review because he said it sounded like a TV show! LOL

For the next few months, I added different categories and little by little started writing about things other than product reviews. February 2015 my grandson suggested I get my own domain name since it was more professional looking and there were no pop up ads. My writing style has basically stayed the same, I love adding humor into my blogs when it fits. I am steadily growing in followers but that is one thing I’d really like to expand even more. For blogging for not quite 5 years, I’m very happy with where I am in the blogging world and I’m also doubly excited that a 71 year old great grandma can still learn and retain what I’ve learned! Whew!!! I should have turned this into a blog!! LOL

I stumbled onto the Ultimate Blog Challenge in January 2016 and have I have met so many wonderful friends. I have completed ever challenge since January 2016 and look forward to many more blog challenges.

Instead of a question that comes up, this is actually two questions but they blend together. I hope you can tell I love blogging and all the friends in the blogging community. Thank you all for viewing, sharing, commenting and liking The Martha Review!
