2016 Year In Review
It’s hard to believe we are in a new year, where did last year go? Thinking back we had a busy year, some good, some not so good but we made it through and looking forward to see what 2017 has in store for us. I’ve been thinking back to last January and this is my 2016 Year in Review.
Work was a plenty for hubby and I and we met so many new and wonderful clients that have become just like family to us. We love helping them make their homes even more beautiful.
We were also award Best Decorator/Designer on the Grand Strand. Since we rely on word of mouth and referrals only, we’re proud to have achieved this title two years in a row.
The beginning part of the year was fairly “normal” if there is such a thing as normal in our lives but then the excitement started in May.
But when May rolled around, we were excited to go to Indiana to see our 17-year-old grandson proudly walk the stage to accept his high school diploma!
What was doubly exciting, his 20-year-old sister came over from Ohio to surprise him. Zachary and Alexandra hadn’t seen each other in almost two years and what a reunion it was! Check out their happy faces:

But May also brought worry and concern when Alexandra was diagnosed with a tumor in her chest wall. It wound up being a long six months of testing, scans, exrays and surgeon visits after we found out it had infiltrated into her spinal column. Surgery was finally scheduled for November 2 and what a long 12 hours with Alex having two back to back surgeries.
But Alex is a strong-willed and determined and is recovering well. This is her story:

More exciting news happened in 2016 when our oldest grandson proposed to his lovely lady! The wedding was an entire weekend affair at the beautiful Reading Farms in Reading Vermont. What a magical, storybook engagement and wedding for CJ and Achelle! This is their wedding but also has links to the teary eyed proposal and breathtaking engagement photos in Central Park, New York:

But that’s not all the news of 2016. On September 28, 2016, our 25-year-old granddaughter and her hubby had a precious little boy. Allison and Tyler introduced little Alek to his big brother Noah and he adores baby Alek! I love this picture of Alek’s foot!
Thinking back to everything that happened in 2016 and how busy we were, I can now see how it went by so fast! So many memories were made this past year as hubby and I celebrated 51 years together on Christmas day 2016. This is our 51 year love story:

Wishing all my blog friends and readers a very Happy and Healthy New Year in 2017!

Thanks Ashley! The wedding was absolutely breathtaking, I so blessed to have another gorgeous granddaughter. Little Alek is our fourth great grand baby and while he was about three weeks early, he was able to come home from the hospital the day before a major hurricane hit in our area! I’m looking forward to another blessed year, when hubby and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in July. May your year be filled with much joy, hope and happiness!

Thanks Ed, as I read other reviews, I get the same feeling. It sorta makes me feel like I’m with them. Wishing you the best 2017!
What an eventful year you have had! Happy New Year!!
Thanks Cindy, from May to October during our granddaughter’s appointments, we were like the energizer bunny driving back and forth from SC to Ohio, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. She is my hubby’s and my life and would do anything for her. Wishing you the best 2017.
