Wordless Wednesday – Our Beautiful January Rose Buds Still Blooming

Even though Wordless Wednesday is for photos, I just wanted to mention that this  photo of the same rose on different days.  This is one of my favorites as it changes into so many different color tones.  My hubby has beautiful roses almost year round!

Thank you Nick, my hubby has a green thumb when it comes to his gardens. We have roses almost year round. I did go back and added a bit of info at the end. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and smell the roses!

Very refreshing. I love roses. I’ll look forward to following your blog over the coming weeks.

Thank you Ed! My hubby talks to his roses and they bloom almost the entire year! I am enjoying your blogs also, good luck with the challenge.

That is a beautiful rose. I love that it changes colour!

    • Martha says:

Thanks Patricia. We have many roses but this one is the most beautiful with the changing colors. Thanks for stopping by to smell the roses!

A rose blooming in upstate New York would be rare indeed (and, no doubt, indoors in a conservatory) – so seeing yours is a treat for eyes already winter-sore and it’s only January.

This is the latest this rose has bloomed Alana and I just love the colors. I’m trying to find a way to preserve a rose, I’ve read a few different ways, they I can have beautiful roses forever! Thanks for stopping by to smell the roses.

  5. Breathtaking beauty! I’d so love to live where it’s warm enough to be able to enjoy Mother Nature at her best. Fall arrives here and as the weather cools, the leaves fall and everything looks so desolate. Spring, by far, is my favorite season, when everything comes to life. Enjoy!

Thanks Jane. We do have a long growing season in the south, however I think the roses will be taking a break for a bit. We are excepting cold and possibly snow this weekend. Yes snow! LOL When we live in the northeast, I loved fall with all the changing colors of the leaves and picking apples. We don’t have that down here. Thanks for stopping by to smell our roses. 🙂

Thank you for the compliments Mayura! I love photographing our roses in different stages. I popped over to your blog, excellent poem about your shadow! I also followed you on twitter and your blog. Looking forward to read more of your writings!

I was going to say, “What flowers bloom in January when it is below freezing?”
Then I realized that you are not in New England. I can’t wait for Spring to get back out in the yard. I have a lot of clearing to do. Planting roses is one of the things I am looking forwards to doing.

    • Martha says:

Well, unfortunately I think our roses will be on hold for a bit Sumudu. The weather forecast in our sunny south this weekend is cold and snow! Yes, snow!! I’m looking forward to getting my garden planned out for early spring. Thanks for stopping by to smell the roses!
