Where Did this Month Go
First things first, today is the last day of the July Ultimate Blog Challenge. Where did this month go, it seemed to start out slow since I had my surgery on July 3rd but I managed to post and read every day! While recuperating from surgery, Lia and her mom were in Indiana for ten days to visit her uncle. Then the day after they returned it was Lia’s 4K graduation. Another a few days passed and it was Rich’s and my 56th wedding anniversary. It’s no wonder the month flew by!
Over the month I completed a major accomplishment….. as I mentioned I was able to post and read every day but the comments my readers left kept building up even though I replied to as many as I could. BUT yesterday I glued myself to the sofa and didn’t leave until I replied to all the comments left for the month…there were over 100 but now they are history!
Once again I have enjoyed this challenge that I started participating in on January 2016, this is my 31st consecutive UBC challenge I have completed! I couldn’t have done this without all the great bloggers I have meet through this challenge and an extra big thank you to our host Paul T. for keeping every one on track each day by posting suggested topics.
We are not just UBC bloggers, we are all friends! Thank you friends for all the comments, shares and likes on Lia’s and my stories. As usual I like to think I will post a few blogs each week until the next challenge but lately life has gotten in the way and that hasn’t been happening. I’m sure Lia will be excited to write about the beginning of her Kindergarten life so stay tuned for that. We will be back for the October Ultimate Blog Challenge for sure, greeting our “old” friends and looking forward to meeting new ones!
A big congratulations to all the bloggers who completed this challenge, to those who almost finished and those who started but couldn’t finish. We are all winners in some way! This is a poem I wrote years back but I like to share it when the challenge month is over.
Now on to the rest of my blog today
See this adorable little guy? Today is his 77th birthday but he doesn’t like parties. But I’m saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEETIE ANYWAY!!
I think 2020 was one of pop’s best birthday. Lia had been working secretly on his birthday gift and when she woke up the morning of his birthday she presented him with her gift. A simple little frame made with popsicle sticks but it meant the world to papa as Lia called him until she “grew up” and started calling him pop. Oh the great memories. Happy Birthday and I love you Pop!
I got up early this morning and got Rich’s breakfast ready, a twinkie birthday cake and a can of pepsi, both are is favorites! LOL We will be going out to dinner later with Alex and Lia!
Congratulations on another completed blog challenge!
Thanks Kate!
Glad you could continue the challenge despite the surgery. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Roy, I couldn’t not finish!
Awww! How sweet that you got up early to make his favorites. I hope dinner tonight will be wonderful, too. Congratulations on all you have done while recovering from surgery. As always, it has been great to connect with you during this challenge. It did go by fast.
Thanks Jeanine, when the month starts it always seems slow but when it ends, it seems like it went by quickly! I’ve enjoyed your blogs this month!
Happy Birthday to Rich. This month seemed to just fly by so quickly. It was wonderful reading your posts and I can’t wait until next time. Much love.

I enjoyed following you and Lia.
Happy Birthday, Rich! i can’t believe Twinkies are his favorites. There you and Lia are baking your hearts out from scratch, and adding sprinkles and all…
LOL! He loves the Italian cookies too Tamara but Rich isn’t a big on sweets except for me. LOL
Congratulations, and great job for completing the UBC! You and I have become friends and blog buddies via UBC, and I appreciate that. I’ll continue to engage with your blog posts. Great smiles and beautiful pictures of your family here. 🙂

Martha, this month of posts has been a delight. Thank you for encouraging me to participate, even though I had so much going on. I adore your generous spirit and the wholesome adventures and observations. What a wonderful Twinkie birthday breakfast for Rich! And I hope Lia and Alex had a super time on their trip. Lia must have been bug-eyed to see her uncle’s auto shop (do I remember that right?). I’ll be looking out for your further updates! Love and hugs– Kebba
Aww you are so sweet Kebba! This challenge has been great not only for blogging but meeting great friends! Lia and Alex had a wonderful time and yes, it’s Lia’s uncle’s shop. She made it back in time for her 4K graduation!
Happy Belated Birthday Rich! I hope you had a wonderful day! That twinkie was a great way to start the day!!! Love it! Congratulations Martha on another UBC! Love your posts. Cindy Rae
