Use Your Imagination

Use Your Imagination

I love adding pictures to my blog but today I am going to write a story without adding any at all. It’s up to you to use your imagination as to how you picture the story in your mind.

The other day I was in our drapery workroom and as I turned to walk to the end of our twelve-foot long table, I stumbled and started to fall.  It’s a strange feeling when this happens, it feels like I’m falling in slow motion but hubby said it was super fast.  Anyway, as I was heading toward the carpeted cement floor, my left leg twisted under my right one and I skidded on the rug. (Can you picture this, almost like when you’re ice skating and you slide down the ice after falling?)

I remember putting my hands down, assuming I would try to catch myself but I ended up with my left arm going into the tall trash can instead of the floor.  Luckily when my underarm hit the top of the trash can, it was tall enough to not have my hand touch the floor. I have tendonitis on that arm so I’m thinking if it hit the floor, I may have been in a bit more pain than I was. I even pushed a six-foot tall wooden cabinet about a foot from where it was as I skidded down the rug.  (I wonder what my speed was as I crashed into the cabinet to make it move that distance. LOL)

The only battle wounds were two rug burns on my left knee and a beautiful shade of purple bruise on my left underarm when it crashed into the trash can.  I think I am the only one that can take a spill and be saved from a major boo-boo by a trash can!

  1. Oh my gosh!!! I’m sorry that happened. I’m so glad you’re okay! You’re right about imagination. I could see the whole thing in my head like a movie, and I cringed with each new description. But at least you didn’t make me cry this time. 😉

Well that’s what happens when I’m not paying attention to my surroundings Jeanine. I’m always thinking of the next project we will be working on and my feet were going as fast as my brain this time. My arm is a pretty shade of purple. LOL Thanks for sitting through my movie!

Thank the good Lord you weren’t doing laundry! The household chore I have determined aaa top 10 dangerous! I broke 4 metatarsals, outside ankle and almost broke off the weight bearing bone of the ankle doing laundry! I have a metal plate with 4 screws and a screw holding the weight bearing bones together…yes it is like slow motion…as I heard the bones breaking I kept thinking, well that is broken then I sprained the right ankle…so I know your pain and I am glad that you weren’t more injured……Be VERY careful Martha!

OMG Katherine, that sounds terrible! How did you manage to do that, falling into a laundry basket? Compared to yours, mine was nothing! I was more worried about damaging my elbow tendonitis that has flared up but thanks to my arm falling in the trash can, that didn’t happen. Maybe you should have someone else do laundry from now on or YOU be very, very careful!

It still sounds like it hurt a lot! I hope you heal quickly!

Well let’s just say I like to think positive and that I don’t hurt………too much! At least I didn’t do any more damage to my elbow tendonitis. Thanks for stopping by Paul.
