Unicorns and Rainbows
Day 13 of the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge is to write about content that showcases a success story. Today I’m writing about Unicorns and Rainbows.
Some of my readers may know that I do product reviews, in fact that’s what started me blogging so I could post my reviews. Well a few weeks ago I received two curtain panels to review. They were a soft, flowing polyester unicorn and rainbow pattern with a rod pocket and fabricated very well. The only problem was Lia’s bedroom already had a pair of curtains that went with her butterfly theme room.
So I put the panels aside until I could figure out where to hang them. It don’t take long to come up with an idea to showcase my success story!
Before After
Our front room is/was my computer room/office but I hardly ever use my desktop since I’m always on my couch office with my laptop. Lia got the cutest Princess tent for your birthday in August and it was set up in the TV room. That was fine until Rusty joined our family and he thought he could nap in the tent so one day I came up with a plan.
I rearranged the front room and turned it into Lia’s playroom! I moved the floor shelves with my Angels to the side wall while her tent fit perfectly in the middle of the wall. Her kitchen is against the other wall along with her trampoline for her daily exercising. On the tent wall we had older style pictures with gold frames that I wasn’t fond of after we painted the room gray but there they hung.
I’m looking at Lia’s adorable pink Princess tent with glistening stars that light up and came up with a perfect solution for the panels! I had some spring tension curtain rods that fit between the two wall shelves and I hung a panel on each side. This not only gave Lia’s room a finished look but they hid the pictures I didn’t like!
Now we had one more dilemma, Rusty found his way into Lia’s playroom and tent again! So we added a dog fence and gate to the opening so Lia can come and go as she pleases but Rusty has to stay out. It was a success and Lia even helped put it together! Once Rusty has a few more manners he will be allowed to visit inside Lia’s house. LOL Lia also came up with the idea of parking her bike next the the front day so she can have a fast get-a-way either down the hall or out in the driveway. She calls this space her “garage.”
The pink in the Unicorn and Rainbow panels match the pink tent perfectly! Lia might not have windows on that wall but she has flowing curtain panels to finish off the Princess look in her playroom.
My story about my office turned playroom was a total success and Princess Lia loves her newly decorated “house.”
You’ve created a wonderful space for your grandchild. Just delightful.
Thank you Virginia. It’s so cute when she’s in her “house” she will say, “come in here with me.”
Yes, that was a success! That area you created with the curtains and the tent is just darling!! And how nice that she has a play area, just for her.
The curtains out a finishing touch in her house She even makes breakfast with plastic eggs and serves them to us Jeanine. Oh the imagination ittle ones have.
Martha, so supercool! What a great combination of using a review product, rearranging space for more fun, and hiding art you’re tired of! Somehow, I had not noticed Lia’s Princess Tent before, so it is wonderful to see that beautiful item. Btw, you are allowed to release the artwork you don’t really enjoy. 🙂 I rotate my artwork every few months, donate some, and buy or make some. Who says we decorate only once, and then it’s fixed forever? <3
Thanks Kebba! You probably never noticed the tent because it was always being moved from one place to another. LOL I love that it now has a special place in Lia’s house. As for the hidden artwork, I’m sure someone would enjoy it, donation sounds perfect.
Lia’s house is spectacular! So creative! What a great idea! I love it!
Thanks Alice, a princess room for a Princess.
So cute. 🙂
Lia is so happy with her unicorn and rainbows in her little “princess house” Amanda.
