Tips For Adding Photos To Reviews and Blogs
I wanted to share some tips when adding photos to your product reviews and blogs. Like the saying goes, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ and it makes a statement on your reviews. Find an eye catching background when photographing the products and by adding “props”, it makes your photos unique.
With this natural soap, I used sea shells as my prop. Nothing better to go with natural soap as natural sea shells to make the product stand out.
If photographing small items, especially jewelry, I like to put a coin in the picture to show the size comparison. When looking at a picture, it’s hard to tell what size it is even if the dimensions are in the review. By being able to see the comparison, it’s much easier for the prospective customer to see the actual size. Also when photographing jewelry, I like to use a nice background to put the jewelry on. For this photo, I used a fluffy stuffed animal that looks like a piece of fur.
When reviewing tea or other beverages, I have a decorative cup that I use and I also like to add a cookie to the photo for added interest. This is a photo from a Macha tea review which came direct from Japan and the seller even made a Japanese origami crane so I added that to the photo as well.
Depending on the product, I like to add a bit of humor with my photos. When I wrote a review and blog for a popcorn bucket, I superimposed the bucket in front of a real popcorn field. Something like this will really catch the reader’s eye.
I use our weathered picnic table for many products and although this photograph is not from a review, you can see how it makes a great background especially for outdoor products. I try to focus on the product without having too many unnecessary items in the background. Photos are a big help to both the sellers or the prospective customers and great photos really show off the product. I hope this helped give you some ideas for your photos in your next review!
What do you add to your blog photos to make them stand out and be unique or different?

I’m glad they can help you Brenda. I’m also looking for anything around the house to use as a prop or backdrop. I’ve even used a silk blouse to set jewelry on. I love being creative even with photos. Thanks for stopping by.
I am always trying to figure how to make my photos look unique when writing reviews. I never thought of adding props. What an excellent idea!!
It’s a good way to make regular photos pop Sandy. By adding props, it hides any unwanted background items. Tag me in your blogs if you use any of these ideas! Thanks for stopping by.
