The Winner of my Painting Goes to Susan A!
It’s Friday Story Time by Lia and today I’m sharing with you that the winner of my painting goes to Susan A!
This past May I signed up to participate in the 2022 season of the Alzheimer’s Fundraiser. My category was baking! I had a few Lia’s Sunshine Bakery fundraisers and also received many donations from my friends including many Facebook friends!
It was getting near the end of the season and I had collected $1720.00, so close to $1750.00. Ma came up with the idea to give the first person that donated $30.00 a one of a kind painting by me. I love to paint so I was so excited to do this. One of ma’s and my Facebook friend donated $30.00 as soon as I posted! But Susan had already donated near the beginning of the fundraiser also. We messaged Susan and told her I never know what I plan to paint, it just comes to me when I dip the brush into the paint. She did say her favorite color was green so I knew I needed my painting to have green in it.
It was time to start my creation, ma put down a puppy pad for my drop cloth and I started painting. I started with green grass and blue sky. I added the sun between the grass and sky. Then I decided to add a lake and I painted a flower bush on the edge of the lake. There was a small strip of unpainted canvas so I made a path around the lake.
Next I added sprinkles around the path and the lake. See I love sprinkles everywhere, even in my paintings!
When I paint a sky, I like to add a rainbow so I painted a big rainbow going from one end of the canvas to the other! I added another flowering bush and lots of lady bugs on the grass and flowers. Here is my finished painting, all signed and dated and ready to be shipped to Susan!
I told ma I wanted to make the mailing label all by myself so I get a little pink heart shaped piece of paper and wrote Susan’s name with some hearts and then I added my name and ma’s. Ma said not to put her’s on it because I did the painting but I told her she helped me get everything ready to paint.
When Susan received her package she told me she loved her painting and send me a picture of it, thinking of the perfect place to hang it. So thanks to Susan I got $1750.00 and then another $30.00 for a grand total of my Alzheimer’s Fundraiser for the 2022 season of $1780.00 in a little over three months!
The 2023 season started in October and I already had my first Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Fundraiser last weekend! I raised $140.00 from the sell out bake sale and another $100.00 from the garage sale. I’m off to a good start with $260.00 for the Alzheimer’s Fundraiser 2023 so far. By starting early, I can come up with some great ideas for my Christmas baking for a super fundraiser. I may even paint some pictures and have an auction!
Maybe I’ll even take orders for my cookie boxes if you can’t get to my bake sale! Ma made labels for the boxes, aren’t they perfect? I have so many ideas I’m working on for my fundraiser this season.
I hope you enjoyed my Friday Story Time by Lia and my creation I painted for Susan! Thank you Susan!!
Love the painting and the charity!

Hello Lia and Martha! Congratulations on the success of your fundraising efforts! Lia’s painting is absolutely stunning! I especially love the rainbow and all the beautiful details! I think adding some of your paintings to the auction is a great idea, and same with taking preorders. Gee wiz you truly are amazing, Lia! It’s been a blessing seeing you grow into your awesomeness! Sending lots of love and virtual hugs. Jaime
