Summer is Over
Good Saturday morning to all my friends! We are in the home stretch of the October Ultimate Blog Challenge, only ten more days to go! It’s a nice cool morning and I’m getting ready for a four hour Clutter-Busting Bootcamp! About two years ago I went through a major de-cluttering of the house going room by room. It’s time for a little “refreshing” so I’m looking forward to being busy the next four hours.
This is a short poem that just popped in my head. Hoping you all have a wonderful day what ever is on your agenda.
Summer is over
Summer is over,
Fall is in the air.
The leaves are changing colors,
There is beauty everywhere.
The tempuratures are dropping,
The mornings cool and brisk.
A walk is so inviting,
On the frosty ground so crisp.
From summer green leaves to beautiful changes of color in the fall.
I love to see the first frost of the year, I can definitely tell that summer is over and fall is in the air. It’s great for taking unique photographs! We don’t get much snow in the south but I love walking over the crisp frost covered ground.
Have a great weekend and blog on!
I love frost-covered roses – they remind me of sugared fruits. Our colors here in the PNW are just changing, but a freeze is expected tonight, so they should pop next week!
That’s a good description of frost covered roses Diana! They do remember me of sugared fruits also!
Ten more days to go! I’m so excited for you and the challenge, but I have to say that I’m a little bit nervous too. I missed a few days myself, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to complete all the tasks in time. But I’m going to try my best and see how it goes. Wish me luck! 🙂 I would wish you luck, but I know you will finish it with ease!
Oh, and by the way… we had frost on the ground first time yesterday – yes – Fall is here!
I look at it at doing your best, even if you may miss a few. Just keep blogging on! I love a frosty morning!
Hi Martha, Have you had frost yet this fall? I suspect those may be pictures from another year. I do like the poem.
Yes those pictures are from last year, so far our mornings are been chilly be no frost yet Doug. But I needed a frosted picture and I love those that I posted. Have a great day!
Photos are beautiful! I needed Clutter Busting Camp before we left. Had to make on-the-spot decisions about a lot of things. Mostly stuff I can easily replace if I need to. I love fall and the change of colors. This is a really nice post, Martha!
I dread when we purge to get ready to move. We have so much stuff that it’s hard to get rid of but I know it’s time to let things go. I’ll always have the memories for the things we will pass on. I’m excted on your move Laura!
Greetings Martha and Lia, I miss Summer and I feel every word of your poem, right to my bones. I envy that you live in a warmer climate and only get to experience the frosty flora instead of inches or piles of snow. Great capture of the autumn colors from your camera! Thank you for sharing. Sending lots of love and virtual hugs. Jaime
While you miss Summer, we miss Winter Jaime! But my favorite season is fall, cool mornings and evenings but warm during the daytime. I love taking landscapes, flowers and sky pictures with my Google Pixel 6! Hugs and love back to you!
