Since Lia wrote about her fun Strawberry picking adventure yesterday, I thought I would share the delicious strawberry pineapple smoothie recipe I made with the strawberries she picked along with a few other fruit smoothies. Here’s her Story Time by Lia if you missed it….. http://themarthareview.com/i-went-strawberry-picking/

I love making fruit smoothies, they are quick and easy plus delicious and healthy. This is my recipe for the smoothie I made with the strawberries that Lia picked.

I started out with 2 pineapple slices and 5 fresh frozen strawberries. Cut in chucks and blend together until smooth. Next add 1/2 cup of crushed ice and blend together with the fruit. Next I added a splash of heavy whipping cream (I didn’t measure but was probably about one tablespoon) and 1/2 teaspoon of almond flavoring. After blending all the ingredients, pour in a glass and top with whipped topping. Okay that part along with the cake batter sprinkles aren’t exactly healthy but they do make it look super mouth watering delicious. On a healthy note, I usually cut out the toppings and sometimes I add a tablespoon of protein powder. This was such a refreshing smoothie and so good especially since Lia picked the berries!

If you like a blend of berries, this is a smoothie I made with a blackberry, raspberry and strawberry blend plus banana. I love coconut so I add that to my smoothies also. http://themarthareview.com/easy-to-make-fruit-smoothies/ This was a mouth-watering smoothie and I love it for a breakfast drink also.

This is one of my favorite smoothies! Take 2 or 3 pineapple slices, blend until fairly smooth. Add a very small amount of whipping cream and vanilla yogurt and blend all together. I like to garnish my smoothie with whipped topping, shredded coconut and an small wedge of pineapple. This is such a delicious and refreshing smoothie drink!

This is another blog I wrote with a variety of fruit smoothies from strawberry, pineapple, and banana. Some I mix all the fruits together, other times I just use one or two in my smoothie. Either way they are healthy and delicious. http://themarthareview.com/delicious-fruit-smoothies/

I like to come up with interesting combinations and my strawberry pineapple smoothie was delicious! Do you like refreshing smoothies? They are easy to make and so healthy and refreshing.

  3. So you used the beautiful strawberries that Lia picked? That had to be so very good! What else are you planning for those strawberries?

    • Martha says:

Yes and that’s what made the smoothie extra delicious Dominique, picked by loving hands. We love just eating the berries, hubby eats them plain and Lia and I add a bit of whipped cream! I froze a bag of them for later to make more smoothies. Lia also has an ice cream machine so I’m thinking she can make strawberry ice cream!

  4. Sounds really yummy!! I bet Lia loved it, too. I used to make lots of strawberry smoothies when I was a younger adult, and I also added pineapple and bananas.

I love fruit Jeanine and those combinations are delicious for sure! The thing about smoothies is they are naturally sweet and no added sugar is needed.

  5. Martha, these all look great! And the sprinkles on the first ones are really beautiful. Presentation is important and makes the calories diminish. Thanks for reminding me that berries can be frozen! We have all the great berries in Phoenix right now, and their season will go by, so I need to freeze. Thanks for another great blog post!

Oh that’s a good one Kebba, about the calories diminishing with the sprinkles! LOL Freeze your berries and you can have smoothies all year! Lia got an ice cream machine for her birthday last year so I’m thinking she will make some strawberry ice cream soon!

My two favorite fruits – strawberries and pineapple. I add strawberries to my protein shake every morning. I’ll have to try your shake recipe.

And I add protein powder to my smoothies at times Eydie! Do you like coconut, I love adding a bit of unsweetened coconut to my smoothies also.
